Trump Voter Safe Space

@nic has already tipped his hand and he's living in the MAGA bliss of the Trump regime.  He's "entertained".  Like the kid burning ants with a magnifying glass.
Not all funny ha ha. Some of it is "that's funny. Oh wait your serious". And then you cry. Some stuff is just out of left field. Gulf of America? Waste of ink. Canada 51st state. Please no. No. Hell no. Take over Gaza. I am hoping that is just a negotiation tactic, but also no. Greenland. Interesting but sounds like a luxury purchase when we are supposed to be saving money. Turning down the  border spigot, that didn't take long. You have to admit watching the government get de-pantsed is as funny as the kid in gym class.  Some of things we spend money on, are unbelievable.

There's nothing funny about the destruction of our government at all.

The solution to spending money on things that we shouldn't is to thoughtfully assess what we're wasting money on and stop doing that. Trump and his nazi buddy are wrecking governmental institutions that everyday Americans rely on. They are terminating the employment of people we need, many of them veterans.

This cavalier attitude toward what they're doing is gross.

Speaking of funny.  This post would be down right laughable if it wasn’t so freaking sad.

Voters are enjoying the chaos the wanted.  These proud patriots love seeing the systems they claimed to support be made a joke if not destroyed.

Traitors!

Why are we pretending we don't know who supports trump?

I'm not pretending. I made some presumptions and either those people are lying or I was wrong.

Both remain possible but that was never the purpose of this thread. The purpose was to get at least one person to say they voted for Donald Trump. By most measures we have entered the Republican Utopia with Trump's resounding victory, and not a single person wants to take credit for making it happen.

This is a Safe Space so I want to make sure I get it right.

Are you saying the de-pantsing is kinda funny, or not?

I have a really clear memory of the kid in the gym class getting de-pantsed by our resident bully. I remember a lot of nervous laughter, including mine, grateful that it wasn't me. But as I continued to grow up I never forgot the look on Steve V's face, and how it wasn't really funny at all. Just cruel.

Trump is a Bull in a China Shop. There will be collateral damage, which is unfortunate. Hopefully they correct it.

I think I disagree we need the size of government we have. I have worked many government projects in my day. The jokes about government work and inefficiency are there for a reason.

We could certainly argue about what to cut and how, but there really shouldn't be arguments about cutting. It sounds like we agree on this. What to cut is where the two sides will disagree. Since Trump won, he gets to pick this time. I am not sure I have seen government try and do any cuts....maybe back in the Gingrich Clinton days???

Imo everyone is on the same page here. Pretty much everyone agrees we could reduce spending but what to cut and how is the crux of the issue here for sure. The how part is really concerning in this case to most people who are upset by whats going on.

I am saying that some of ideas coming out of the administration sound like a joke until you realize they might actually happen. Likewise, some of the items we have spent $$ on seem like a joke, and I hope they are not real, but they probably are real. There have been a few congress persons in the past that have pointed out nonsensical spending put into bills, but nothing ever changes. It's kind of nice to see someone try and do something about it for a change. Maybe it turns out awful, or maybe when it's over no one notices a difference.

Edit: I forgot to mention. In the de-pants analogy...the government is the bully.

Please explain Trump/Elon's plan, and the desired end result, for everyone. In detail.

The primary issue is that they haven't found wasteful spending. The things you feel are wasteful add up to such a small amount of money that it's going to cost the government more in lawsuits losing in court over and over then they are by saving meaningful amounts of money.

Unless they:

Cut the pay and benefits for the military OR dramatically reduce social security payouts OR dramatically reduce Medicaid spending on old people they aren't saving any money.

What they are doing is serving slop in the trough of conservatives to eat up, which frankly is historically embarrassing for everybody involved.
