I said at the end of last season that DR needed to work on becoming more mobile which includes being more fit. I think being in peak fitness will enable him to have a great sophomore season.
This is really all he needs to do, and a lot of it will come naturally with his body maturing. He was listed at about 230 last year, and that looked pretty accurate. That's a perfect weight for someone his height. Body comp will take care of itself since he's going to be working on his strength and conditioning.
A lot like Trevor Lawrence IMHO. Trevor did a few designed runs and was serviceable in the in the zone read as well. He was right at 7 carries his soph campaign. 9 TD's and averaged 34 yrds/ game that year. I'd take it. As you mentioned, just enough tp keep the honest and not completely forget about him in the "run" game. This is really all he needs to do, and a lot of it will come naturally with his body maturing. If we wanted a dual threat he would need to drop 10 to 15lbs. However, that might compromise his durability, and honestly our QB shouldn't be running it more than 5 or 6 times in a game max. Even less in conference play. There's a reason 2AM and Harby never made it through a full season as healthy starters.
Dylan is a pocket guy with good enough speed to keep defenses honest, and that can win championships.
I think it is more timing for him, knowing when to tuck it and gain that 5-10 yardsThis is really all he needs to do, and a lot of it will come naturally with his body maturing. Agree. There were plays to be made in every game last year if he would have decided to tuck it and settle for the short rush, but I feel like we've said this about almost every QB since Bo was here.I think it is more timing for him, knowing when to tuck it and gain that 5-10 yards
I've been told several times...size doesn't matter!!So how did Raiola look, size wise, at practice today?
