And of course this stuff is supposed to be here. The Mods/Admins aren't going to kill it because it's in its proper place. This is what Rumorville is for. Doesn't mean it's true or untrue if it's here.

Many people, myself included, petitioned to have Rumorville revived from the dead. Lots of people will use it to divulge rumors they heard, lots will use it to post complete bunk, and some (like me) have a grand old time poking holes in theories. It's all good.

The way my dad told me as stated above "My buddy has a lady friend that is friends with a guy who runs the events for the boosters like the parties, banquets, etc" because of all of the previous rumors we've had here in rumorville have all started like my dads buddy who's buddies with this person who knows that person etc. The whole time my dad was telling me this I immediatley started laughing on the inside thinking where have I heard this before.....oh ya right here in rumorville lol.

Whether this story is true I don't know but I know my dad wouldn't have told me it if it didn't hold some sort of truth. I just saw the other guys post and was in complete shock because I heard the exact same thing but I didn't know about the extra part that TO was going to fire Carl.

I think that I'm the last one to post rumor threads here in rumorville. Do I believe in this rumor......maybe a little bit more since some body has already posted the same story. I don't want to believe in this stupid rumor because we'll because things started to go Nebraskas way the previous 2 years and now we have the coaches to bring us back into the National spotlight and now we have this rumore driving people crazy.

I'm usually a skeptic like your self when it comes to these rumors like I was in Epocs rumor thread about Carl. We'll see what else happens but I think that Carl will be here next year and the year after that.

But your dad has no way of verifying this. He's so many layers removed that he's trusting the word of someone who knows someone who knows someone who knows someone. No matter how free from impunity your father is, he's not the only one we have to trust in this chain of hearsay.

Again, I'm not saying this isn't true. I'm just saying that your dad's testimony can't be taken as gospel by anyone. There are just too many layers.

I under stand what you're saying. There are four people in this my dad, his buddy, this chick, and the acutally guy who broke the news. I believe my father and his buddy whom I've met several times and is bascially the same type of guy that my father is. Guy keeps to himself and doesn't stir the pot. I've never met the chick or the guy who broke the news so I don't know how they are as people and if they are trustworthy.

Its a 50/50 for me on this rumor because I believe it in some way but I don't if that makes any sense. It could be true from the two people that I believe in and trust but then again it could be wrong coming from the other two sources trying to stir the pot and relaying the info to others to spread.

I'm with you that it doesn't hold SOLID evidence but I'm not going to rule out my father and his buddies words because I trust those too and I would bet all of my Husker appearl and gear on the line if that ment anything. Would I do the same with the other two sources probably not because I don't know them personally.

This rumor could have that chain reaction effect where somebody says something and when it gets to the last person it turns into a whole different story. Whether thats whats going on in this rumor I don't know. What I do know is that my dad heared about the Carl/booster wife thing before I could tell him after hearing that rumor here at Rumorville and then now with this new rumor that he told me last night and another member posting the exact same thing is kind of a coincidence.

Knapplc I really like this debate because you bring up some very valid points and you're a very knowledgeable person and thats why I voted for you and BRI for the moderator position. Can't wait to see what you write next :thumbs

 
I sift through evidence all day, every day at my gig. Even one person relating a story to another makes it hearsay and unreliable. The fact that there's at least two, and possibly seven layers here makes this not much of much.

From what I know of Osborne, he wouldn't call for a guy's head based on this. Again, this is not the first time such a situation has happened when TO has been associated with Husker football. Why would he suddenly decide to fire a guy over this when he hasn't called for heads in the past? What makes this situation different?

I can believe there was some impropriety at Stadium Drive. I can believe two people got into some monkey business. I guess I can believe Carl is lady killer enough to be involved (this is the hardest thing for me to believe, but I'm willing to run with it).

What I have a hard time with is, even if this was a major booster's wife/daughter, that there was this huge melodrama where Osborne was out headhunting and Bo threw his career in jeopardy to save Carl. Very little of that characterization sounds plausible to me. Definitely untrue? Hard to say. I've seen it all, and it's possible. But based on what I know/suspect about the names involved, I have a hard time buying it.
