Good news so far. I've never been to a home night game. May have to do N. Illnois.

Guys... Guys... Guys....100 Days to kickoff!!!

Can't wait. Picked up 2 season tickets for the first time ever since student tix. Probably only make it back to Lincoln for 3 or 4 games but that's 2 or 3 more than usual. Plus we got the CU game out here this year.

Looks at weekend forecast...Ten straight days above 95º starting on Saturday.. oh great.

Give me the cold, I'm not a fan of the heat.... A perfect day to me is 55 and cloudy, with a nice breeze.

I'd rather be too cold than too hot.

Not much better here, low 90s.

Mitch Sherman left ESPN for The Athletic. It's about time.

@Enhance I thought the same thing. Decided to give it a year to see if it's worth it.

@Enhance The draw would be the access to the plethora of talent that The Athletic has put together over the last couple of years. Sherman would be the main draw, but you'd also have access to Mandel, Feldman and Auerbach for CFB, among others for other sports.

That said, I am cheap, so I haven't subscribed yet.

I'm curious what the OWH readership numbers are now that they paywall so much content. Essentially every article that pops up on twitter is SUBSCRIBER PLUS, and I'm essentially to the point of unfollowing them.

Is the subscriber Plus cheaper than the paper subscription?  Because, you know, paper and delivery costs don't exist

@huKSer Yes - I think the going rate for unlimited access to all their content online is like $10/month.

@Saunders I think I'm picking up what you were getting at now. I think The Athletic and the OWH are incomparable from a business standpoint. The Athletic is purely an online experience and, although they try to place people in local markets, they're a national brand. The OWH still delivers newspapers to tons of people still and have a lot fixed costs associated with that including print, production, delivery, management, carriers, etc.

I'm sure they also have a lot of advertisers that want to get in front of their audience. So, it's just different business models. But, like I said, their online subscriber program gets rid of ads almost entirely.

Hmm, I swear I saw ads when I did the trial last year, and I was shocked. Maybe they fixed it. Still, the price is quite high for what it is.

Gotta admit... that was fun to watch.

Difference between Nebraska/Clemson and Bama is that Saban is a scum bag. I'd be fine with a good guy like Dabo being dominant.

    JJ Husker

Well sure, Dabo is better than Saban but TO was a pretty good guy and most everyone other than Husker fans had their fill of Nebraska by the late 90's early 2000's. So, not being a scumbag helps but anyone on a long dominate run is susceptible. Patriots and Belichek are another good example. I just understand it better now whereas I didn't at all when people first started hating on us.

Yeah, people want to see competition if it's not their team on top. It's definitely more interesting to see fresh blood in the title game.

Hype train begins.  Huskers at #19 in Athlon Way-too-early poll.

Oh sweet baby Jesus tapdancing on a cracker, that song was at EVERY SINGLE OFF-CAMPUS PARTY in the late 90s. Even the people hosting parties got tired of the song and only played it out of some misguided sense of obligation.

Plus, it's really awkward to be on a road trip with the kids and wife somewhere, hear that song start up on a 90s station, and then remember some of the rather questionable things you did as a youth and who you did them with.

My mom pre-ordered it for my birthday (yes I'm a 35-year-old man who just said that), but I don't know if she plans on waiting until December to give it to me, because she'd be wrong.
