    I'd heard They found about a gazillion dead crows near my hometown of Holdrege, NE. and there was some concern that they may have died from some sort of Avian Flu. They had a Bird Pathologist examine the remains and squeezin's of all the crows, and she confirmed the problem was definitely NOT Avian Flu, However, She determined that 97% of the crows had been killed by impact with trucks, and 3% were killed by an impact with a car. Officials then hired an Ornitholo...

    Ornithological Behaviorist to determine the possible reason for the disproportionate percentages for truck versus car kill...The O.B. determined the probable cause was merely when the flying rodents, I mean.. the crows found road kill, they always set-up a look-out Crow in a nearby tree to warn of impending danger.

    His conclusion was that all the lookout crows could say "Cah"...but none could say "Truck."

    The transformation of my Husker/Buckeye Hybrid seems to be complete..Started rooting for Nebraska a couple of seasons ago after a decade as a Momma's boy..(His Mom couldn't even say the word "Michigan" w/o adding "Ptuey" at the end)...And just last Saturday, I swear I caught him rooting AGAINST tOSU in their 1 point win over Mechicken..If only there was some way of breaking the news to his Mom without losing the kid's trust, I'd probably get full custody.

    Wow! Over 2" of rain in parts of the Phoenix area and they postpone all of the High school playoff Football games.... I wonder if School officials are concerned about the possibility of gators showing up?

    Just heard over a dozen gunshots a little over a mile away? Shasta dove in through the hole in the screen and about jumped in my lap between shots 7 and 9.

    I remember there was a short manhunt when I first moved to Phoenix. They had the helicopters out and everything. Dude had a standoff with the cops about a block from my apartment and ended up shooting himself at the intersection just down the street.

    @ Judoka About a mile West of the Chandler Gilbert border outside of Phoenix..Or about 50 miles East of where the Cardinals were playing the Sea Hags that night ...Or about 25 miles East of the area of Phoenix Where gunshots are more common. I miss the way they used to have our locations under our user names on posts

    Walks...I was actually thinking that earlier...But I really don't want to get them in trouble..they've got young kids somewhere...I'll probably just ignore it until I sell the place...It was strange still being able to smell (from memory?) in the back of my nose while visiting my Bro in Colorado Springs...A 12 hour drive away..

    Jacket + yardwork at this time of year??? I would pass on that and just talk to them lol. Every person I know that smokes marijuana have had someone talk to them about the same issue your having, and they have either slowed down on it, or closed doors so it wouldn't spread.

    Note to self: Unplug the Hot Water heater a week BEFORE it hits 115 all week and you get the crazy notion to rake up ~230 lbs of Mesquite seed pods with a strained? ACL as fast as you can so you can finish before sundown ...after a 12 hour workday...and the humidity about triple what it was the week before. I had to lay down in the shower and put the sprayer on a fine mist to try to cool down... And at What age are you s'posed to put a chair in the shower?..Craving electrolytes!...

    It got up to the mid 90's today (or ~174 in Car degrees) For some reason, I thought the special sun glass compartment in front of the sunroof would insulate them a little more better...

    It usually passes in 24-48 hours but sometimes it can hang on for 2-3 weeks. Drink lots of water and get plenty of sleep.
