12-Team Playoff On the Way; 14-Team to Follow

This move makes sense to me; still no guarantees for all conference champs (which is the correct move in this era of CFB) and addresses the flaw exposed from last year’s bye/seeding situation.

And here we have an Oklahoma writer taking that plus his comment on how the Big Ten plays 9 conference games vs the SEC's 8 and spinning it as Rhule trying to kill the 2029-30 Nebraska-OU series.    He also says Rhule probably won't be around for those games. Like buddy, Venables's record at OU isn't that much better than Rhule's at Nebraska (.564 vs .480, 1 winning season out of 3 vs 1 of 2), and Venables took over a VASTLY better situation than Rhule did.

Come to think of it, Venables looks kinda like Mike Riley at this point. Two losing seasons with one decent one in the middle. Venables is .564, Riley of course was .500. Riley took over from a solid if unspectacular coach, while Venables took over a perennial title contender team.

With the College Football Committee selecting or ranking 1-12 after CCG, it could get juicy again down the stretch.

Just imagining teams that could get bumped down or sliding up - from Rivalry weekend (Thanksgiving weekend) and also CCG (played and lost - or not playing in CCG).

Rankings will definitely be interesting again with people making those ultimate decisions

Next thing to fix is not having it be a bowl site in the 2nd round, completely defeats the purpose of being a top 4 seed, yeah you get a bye but you don't get 1 home game? You can just have the game be sponsored by whatever bowl game it is
It is shocking how these "smart" guys can take so long to fix something.

It should have never been 4 teams in a playoff.  12 is also lame.  Go to 16 right away and let the top seeds host games.

They are so worried about these bowl locations, no one even knows where those games were played at last year.

I was amazed/shocked that they actually changed seeding rules this year.

Just have the Rose Bowl be the Champ game every year...everything else is home team site sponsored by (Fiesta, Orange, etc)

I'd throw a bone to the Bowls and they can have the semi-finals and the championship.  Everything else should be on campus of the better seed in a better environment for fans of the game.

I may be in the minority but I prefer a neutral site for all playoff games.  It keeps things even.

Didn't Husker fans hate and complain about playing Miami or FSU in the Orange Bowl down in Florida?  I am pretty sure that was a real sentiment forever.

But now, If NU makes the playoffs and has to go play Clemson (for example) on a Friday or Saturday night in Death Valley - yall going to lose your s#!t over it.

"That's not fair" and "Why can't it be played on a neutral site" is what we will hear.

I get that point but that was with the stupid bowls.

Now it is simple, the better team the higher ranked team, gets an advantage and gets to play at home.

Meh...I think most people understand seeding and how home field advantage works with that

I have an original main entry door panel from the Lincoln memorial dated 1923 any one have any information on it such as how many exist or who they were given to? It inscribed with a name as well. I cannot find any info online I only seen a picture of the matching original women’s bathroom door that still exists..thank you

Very few neutral site' games, including bowl games, are truly neutral.  I think that is where the complaining comes from.
