2024 Husker Football Schedule

I do wonder what a Friday night game in Lincoln will look like.

I imagine classes will be "cancelled" at least anything in the afternoon.

The bars that normally do not open until evening are all going to open early

Tailgating lots will be opened up by...1pm?

Game will be done my 11 at the latest which means a huge rush to the bars and restaurants.

If you are in Omaha, what time are you heading to Lincoln?

On a Saturday, most everything is open by 9am but that won't be the case on a Friday.
There typically aren't a ton of classes on Fridays in general and are in the mornings, if held at all. With this being an exception to the norm, you're right that there may be some unusual events occurring. I anticipate that the University will treat the day similar to the Volleyball Day in Nebraska where lots were cleared out and campus events turned into a bit of a circus.

Yeah, I think my latest Friday class at UNL was 1pm???  But that even seems late

Huh, we're being told to shut up and think of the money. Ok. Fair enough.

But is Ohio State having to host a home Friday game? Is Michigan? Is Penn State having to give up a prime recruiting tool in being able to bring in and show recruits their awesome gameday experience?

Huh...guess not.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Except in the B1G.

Gotta run, got to yell at these kids to get off my lawn

Well ... yes.... basically.  It's one time in 14 years at this point.  And it's how all of college football is going.

As to the other three schools, it's a 33% bigger problem for them.  As in, their stadiums also always sell out and they are over 100,000 each.  Plus they've basically earned the right to not have those games.  If we start winning like they have, we might be in the same boat.

Oh, I hear ya. Can't pretend to not know who the bell cows are in the current landscape.

I just wish it was actually fair for everyone. If the B1G is going to do this, then everyone gets it. And not just to say that, but to actually commit and make it happen.

I'm not saying this is going to utterly screw over our recruiting for the year either. It's one game. But man, we have enough disadvantages without throwing more on us. Especially ones that other B1G teams will likely never have to deal with.

Thank goodness! Now I don't have to roll right out of bed the day after Thanksgiving to watch the Iowa game. I always hated the kickoff time for that game, as well as the annual Colorado game. 9 a.m. is just way too early, especially the day after Thanksgiving.

ESPN updated the FPI with spring additions and subtractions factored in. Nebraska ranks #41. According to their metric the teams on our schedule:

Ohio State - 4

USC - 18

Colorado - 36

Iowa - 37

Wisconsin - 39

UCLA - 40

Rutgers - 45

Purdue - 60

Illinois - 62

Indiana - 77

UTEP - 111

Northern Iowa - Not Rated

Last year, the Huskers game time kickoff against Iowa was 230pm. Originally.

I was excited about that.

And then they changed it later on.

Hoping they don't change this one as well

There's an NFL afternoon game I believe, and now Minny/Wisky is in the morning spot,  so I don't think this will change.
