I've been saying this ever since the rumors started swirling that it might be under consideration. If Dallas trades Dak and drafts Sanders. I'm out.

These are your opinions, but that's not how the NFL thinks or works.  I will happily bet you a friendly wager he will be a 1st or 2nd round pick. Most of what you mentioned truly doesn't matter on draft day for a QB. Other positions sure it matters more, but it happens literally every year.

 
If Will freaking Levis can go in the first 2 rounds than Shadeur Sanders can too. This upcoming QB draft class is looking pretty weak.

I think it's fair to say he's a top-notch QB. 

He was 25th in the country in passing yards last year, despite missing most of two games.  Extrapolating to 12 full games, he would have been in the top ten.

Among QBs with at least 100 pass attempts last year, he was 9th in completion percentage.  

He only threw three interceptions last year.  Only one player in the top 50 of passing yards threw fewer (Jordan Travis) and only two others only threw three (Bo Nix and Graham Mertz).

Sanders was the only one in the top 50 to get sacked more than 40 times.  He got sacked 52 times.

The combination of yards and attempts along with the completion percentage and lack of interceptions would seem to indicate he is making good decisions most of the time.

I doubt anyone is suggesting he won’t be picked in the 1st 2 rounds. It’s more that some teams will pass on and pick someone else.

This.  I'm more of an opinion he'll be a second round guy.  Yes, he has the physical ability to make passes.

When you factor in the fact that Daddy is only going to allow a few teams to possibly take him, that diminishes the chance of being a 1st round (not even a high 1st round) quite a bit, in my opinion (yes, it's my opinion).  

I've watched some videos from people who know more about football than me, explain how he's not as polished of a QB as what you would expect for a guy being drafted high.  In my opinion, he's playing based on his physical skills mostly, and he's not really being coached as well as some other QBs.

 
What's the toughest competition he's  faced?

If he could walk the walk,  prime would have put him on a top team, with a top o line, and let him shine.

He'll  end up being more Johny Football, than Joe Burroughs.

I think the biggest knock on Sanders is he leaves his line out to dry by holding the ball too long if there isn't a sure play to be made. Yes he has good yardage, completion percentage and TD:Int ratio but I think the sacks are telling and they say more than just CU has a bad OLine. It is true to a degree but Sanders doesn't do them any favors.

He will take a sack over a throwaway to conserve completion percentage. He will take a sack instead of making a tight window throw that could end up being an interception. He is good at limiting turnovers but he does hold the ball too long and take unnecessary sacks which is problematic at any level.

The yardage is great but when you dive deeper you see some stat padding that you wouldn't normally see with other QBs. They don't even try to run the ball, they want it on Shedeurs shoulders. And throwing on first down inside of 2 minutes to okay with a lead says everything imo. They play offense like it's College Football 25 and they want to get Shedeur a Heisman. It helps his stats but you aren't actually winning football games that way.

That said I don't think these are things that can't be worked on especially with better talent up front.

I think people are WAAAAYYY overstating the daddy factor.  First, as others have pointed out, Sanders probably has a bunch more cred in the League that people are wanting to admit.  He's a long ways from the only NFL guy who thinks highly of themselves.

There are probably a few teams that will shy away.  But Jameis Winston was the #1 overall pick and had a LOT more baggage than Sanders.  It just doesn't matter like people think it does.

I could be very wrong and it’s just my opinion. 
 

Winston’s dad didn’t go as far as being his college coach, showing favoritism towards him so much that it prevents good team chemistry, then proclaiming that he’s going to control who his kid can play for. 
 

It all will be interesting how it plays out. Who was the dad a number of years ago that was so overbearing. I think they played for a California team. I don’t even remember what sport. Maybe basketball?  If I remember correctly, it affected their careers.

And how does that usually work out?

I could see a bottom feeder team taking a flyer on him and trying. But, Deon wouldn’t let a team like that draft him.
