2025 NCAA Tournament

If you are trailing late in a game, an aggressive full court press really works. Sometimes I wonder why teams don't do it more often, even earlier in a game. It's really tough to inbound and cross half-court if the other team decides to stop you.

The way to beat a full court press is to make sure the inbounder has a strong arm. Then, you send your fastest and shiftiest player downcourt and chuck it. It's amazing you don't see that play more often.

But you would always have a defender playing free safety, and if the pass is successful you foul him immediately. So at least you increase the chance for a turnover to go with the foul you were ready to commit anyway.

One of the greatest BBall teams I've watched.  However, they did have some very good transfers and solid depth that played into it.

It's the way of the future and the now.

Houston pulled a Nebraska and found a new, excruciating way to lose.
I'll say.  For real.

Extremely Happy for them to be in the 'ship game though.  What a program that was badly tossed aside from the SWC days for the powerful new Big 12 conference.  And then got politely asked back in to rejoin it.

Houston has been a very, very good BBall program for a decade.

7 out of the last 8 years making the Sweet 16 is not too shabby.

2 out of the last 4 years making the Elite 8.

1 National Championship Game appearance.

Last 8 years, their W-L record is Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Kansas type level.....

34-5

32-4

33-4

32-6

28-4

23-8

33-4

27-8

But like you mentioned, they kinda choked in the biggest moment in an awful way, despite their success.  I feel bad for them.  But I felt that Florida was the best team going into March Madness and that they knew how to close out games as a team better than anyone.  Even if the opponent had bone headed moments at the worst time.  See Houston.   ;)   And very-Nebraska like (minus the Crown Tourney - Huskers came through!!!!)  :w00t
