2025 Transfer Portal

Ausar's visit went well.  Visiting USC today and Villanova on Wednesday.  USC already added a couple of transfers that would compete for his minutes.

Likely deciding this week.

Lol on the attempt.  They did something similar with Janowski's name.  But Fred Hoiberg never called it.   <_<  <mic drop>

But, Jarusevicius is an experienced "transfer player".  So it must mean more  :)

What system is that?  Please explain  :)

:snacks:
The 23/24 season shows what Hoiberg wants his system to be.  He made a mistake this year and went for positional size over shooting & skill because he thought they were beaten on the boards by "bigger" players.  He is now going back to the way he wants play based on the transfers he is bringing in.

I don't totally agree. Berke & Griffith were 3 pt. shooters that took a step back in long range accuracy from the previous year.  I believe that it was more about bad analyzing & NLI funding that was the problem.

Griffiths started off very slowly his freshman year at Rutgers and then got hot at the end of the season.  It may be that the hot stretch at the end of 23/24 was an anomaly.  He was a really good shooter in HS, but that doesn't always translate to the next level.  He didn't really regress much.  He shot 28.2% at Rutgers & 25% for the Huskers.  He did take a lot more at Rutgers (110 vs 28), but he didn't get much of a chance to show that he could shoot as a Husker because he was constantly lost on the defensive end.

Berke didn't really regress.  He shot 27.7% as a Husker and 29.7% as a Bruin on significantly more as a Husker (83 vs 37).

they may have no returners...but they do have some in coming talent

Although having zero returners is less than ideal, coach Scott Drew is no stranger to loading up on talent. The Bears' 2025 recruiting class has just one member, five-star Tounde Yessoufou, who is complimented by the five-man No. 13 transfer portal class in the country.

Berke was shooting much better before getting hurt.  Regardless,  I feel the coaches thought they would shoot better from 3 than they did.  Griffith, Worster & Meah were big misses!

There are so many teams that are going to be like that this year. True, most did lose their head coach but... new norm?!! And Baylor is still going to be good- Juslin Bodo Bodo transferred in from High Point, Michael Rataj from Oregon State, Agbim from Wyoming, the freshman Yessoufou... JJ White from UNO! CBB is nuts and it's like a full time job keeping up with all these roster changes...
