Bo is hard headed, old fashioned, and can be seen as a disciplinarian. This tough love approach is bound to rub some guys wrong, not just when they get here, but even after they've been here awhile. There's bound to be some misses in recruiting where we get players that just cant handle being at Nebraska. Tyler Moore was one. Chase Rome was one for a week, but decided he wanted to be here and changed his tune. We dont know what happened. But it's not a big deal either.

It's certainly not something that meshes as well with today's generation as someone like...say chip kelly. (and i have absolutely no clue about kelly - he just seems to come off more as a "player's coach" than Bo). It will bite us in the a$$ a time or two over Bo's tenure. I don't think that's a bad thing though. It all works out for everyone in the end.

Yeah, after watching Chip press conference the other night after the game-1st real time I've spent paying any sort of attention to his demeanor-it's easy to attain that perception of him.

I think long-term, Bo's personality and the way he does things will start to win over in recruting battles. As time passes and we continue to graduate players and the near 100% continue on to do good things after school and stay out of trouble, players and parents of player will begin to want to be here. I dont want to say our program is NOT a win-first type of atmosphere, but it's certainly no where near the "win at all costs" feeling you take from a lot of other places.

When someone can cite programs that finish a 4 or 5 year recruiting cycle with ALL of the same players who signed on LOI day ..............THEN I will believe we are the aberration.

Until then.........................meh..............

I would find this type of attrition more concerning if the guys that do stick it out didn't work their asses off for Coach Bo. I think it's pretty obvious they do. There's a lot of things you can say about how they play the game, but I don't think it's ever been a question of effort. The effort is most certainly there.

Good point. That's exactly why, while I'd like everyone we recruit to stay and pan out, those who don't aren't often missed.

Anyone remember which guy(s) left this team and thrived somewhere else?

I love Bo and I don't think there is a huge under current of disgruntled players, however I am willing to bet that there are a few. Every team has them, just read local stories around cfb in the off season. There are rumblings Cooper is one of the disgruntled, he would be a big loss for next year imo so I hope it isn't true.

I guess you don't yell that Pelini and get away with it.....

Where did you hear this of Cooper?

Disgruntled because he has to fight for his position every day? That could be the only reason I could think of, and if thats the case, what has happened to football in general? Kids these days think things should be given, not earned. Corey Cooper might be a little bit of a loss, if this is true, but there are other kids that are willing fill his shoes.

Right now we have several people under Cooper who will get more playing time than him next year if he doesn't continue to work hard. I know he's frustrated he's not seeing the field like he'd like but the fact is other guys are better. They are more athletic and know what to do and don't have the break downs as much. I think the guy is thinking too hard. I know he thought LB might be a spot he could fill in at but our 4 guys for next year. If Brown wouldn't have hurt himself he would be a starter.

Bell being off the team isn't related to the sideline deal.

Yeah, you really need to share the reasons and quit teasing all the time.
