This looks like it should be competitive but it won’t be. Sadly for Bud, fights like these will be the norm for a long time. The true welterweight superfight, Crawford/Spence, probably doesn’t see the light during these fighters elite time(the next two years). With Bud’s contract with Abrum and ESPN he could easily be an afterthought for the other top fighters in the class who are signed with promoters who are tied to SHOWTIME. Those guys will match up so much easier with each other due to this. Add in the fact that Abrum burned some bridges with some of these promotion groups(I know Spence’s group is one with Al Haymon) won’t help matters.
Now add in the fact the Mikey Garcia, unified and undefeated stud at lightweight wants to fight Spence. He’s gonna fight Richard Commey next, but I think this fight happens far before Crawford gets his shot at Spence. The other odd twist that could effect this Spence/Crawford thing is Vasyl Lomachenko. Loma will destroy his next match in December to unify his half of the lightweight world and he wants Garcia. Garcia once was a Top Rank/ESPN guy. A bitter release from them took two years, but odds are that this fight has a better(yet far fetched) chance of happening before Spence and Crawford have a go at it.
it is sad the politics that screw fans of seeing great fights.
And GGG still win the fight
