Carl Ain't Goin' Nowhere

The whole sequence of events, from Carl's raise being announced to TO coming out and squashing it, is just weird.

 
Honestly, if some idiot hadn't reported there was an 80% raise (which is ridiculous in and of itself) this rumor

would have run out of gas shortly after the bowl game. Carl Pelini isn't going anywhere and I doubt there was

even any truth to it in the beginning. Why don't these idiots just get involved in recruiting because there's

plenty of rumors there that don't tarnish the reputations of coaches or the University?

This is just such rubbish. You act as if TO couldn't possibly stomach the thought of a coach doing something like this. You have zero concept, apparently, of what our coaches were like in the 80s and 90s.

To act as if Osborne would be out for Carl's head because Carl slept around with some booster's wife is a stereotype, nothing more.

Don't shoot the messenger!!!!!!! Just adding to an already ongoing story/speculation.........I am fully aware of what went on in years past. TO gave Phillips another chance after dragging a woman down a flight of stairs by her hair. I'm sure he will make his peace with this in time. The decision to immediately dismiss Carl was probably premature.

Bottom line........This shameful (but not fire-able) situation DID happen. Time to move on to 2010.........

bsbch, tell us how you know this is true or prepare to be dismissed as a player. Nothing personal, but when you're brand new to the board and you have no reputation it's pretty hard to take your word for anything.

Like I said earlier, one source works in the Athletic Dept, the other is a former player (recent). They don't know each other and are both plugged in to the university. Stories exactly the same.

I know you don't know me as I just heard about this site, but I trust my sources.

this is why we need a longer season... too much down time and bored fans hungry for more will perpetuate rumors like this.

How do we make the season longer? I say we should play a game every other week starting in June (CWS would pitch a fit I am sure) and ending mid December. We should be able to play every team in the Big 12 and still have the nonconf games. Then move the Spring game to the end of March and that should keep the focus on what we really care about... WINNING!

Fair enough brother. It kind of sucks that all this talk is going on and none of us have the benefit of the "horse's mouth". Appears we all have our sources and due to that, all have different versions of the story.
