So Mac Brown is out at NC.  Among the names on the list for replace him is perineal candidate Cambell from Iowa State.  He cycles every so often when Iowa State has a good year.  He then cycles out of the rotation.

I say no to this one for selfish reasons:  If Matt Rhule goes anywhere, I want Chadwell here.  Of course Dana H, if he stays around, may have a say in that as well.

Jamey Chadwell, Head Coach, LibertyChadwell is one of the top coaches in the Group of 5 ranks and is due for a chance to lead a power conference program. The Tennessee native has worked as a head coach at five different stops, including Charleston Southern (35-14 from 2013-16) and Coastal Carolina (39-22). In two years at Liberty, Chadwell’s record sits at 21-3, and he guided the program to an appearance in the Fiesta Bowl after a 13-0 record in the regular season in ’23.

Others of note mentioned are:  Dan Mullen former Florida coach who was hired at the same time we hired Frost,   The OC at Penn State,  and Barry Odem head coach of UNLV.

You can make so much even at small lame schools now, it would be tough to want to leave for a job with actual pressure.  Unless the money is just soooooo sick.

You can bet Odom is gone just as soon as a new offer comes, UNLV pays hot garbage compared to a real team, prior to him we had a coach that was there I believe a week but it might have been 2 before someone else offered him more money.

One person speculation that this could be Lincoln Riley's out at USC if the school and Riley don't think it will work out long term:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/lincoln-riley-s-future-at-usc-in-question-could-be-replacing-mack-brown-as-unc-head-football-coach/ar-AA1uNUe0?ocid=entnewsntp&pc=DCTS&cvid=8e3a7ece416849e2ae3dcac88306bbe3&ei=33

The coach (Riley) still stands to make around $88 million if fired. (TG's comment: these coaches buyouts are grossly one sided and over priced - supply and demand at its worse)

As Riley’s coaching job is now on the line, opportunities begin to arise. Perhaps the most interesting speculation is the potential of a job at the University of North Carolina, which recently fired their head coach.

Heusmann speculated that “Riley may feel that long term it is never going to work, if that is the case then the Trojan brass may be happy to just cut ties, so they avoid having to pay him a buyout in the future… for UNC and Lincoln I’d like the idea. With Lincoln’s heavy contract I think that puts him on the 2025 hot seat, this move could solve that for both parties.”

Univ of Tulsa fired Coach Kevin Wilson (former Ohio State OC) after just  2 years   He lost 5 games this year by 30 or more points. It was only a few years ago that Tulsa was competing with SMU for their conference championship.  I believe TU is the smallest school in Div 1 - but that may not still be the case.

I gotta think Chadwell is the front runner. He could make some noise in a weak ACC.

Interesting they fired Mac.  It seems they could have reached something where he could just retire. He’s always seemed like a care taker for the program. They need some juice now.

You had me at Chadwell.  Dude is a winner.

Yes, I found this surprising as well.  I thought they would have, could have given him some front office job or just given him a retirement send off.  He did a respectful job there overall.

Not really a lot of attractive openings just yet.

Purdue can probably pay the most but is one of the worst P4 jobs around.

WVU, well, you are pretty much the only show in the state, so there is probably more pressure.

UNC is a weird one because they are always second fiddle to basketball.
