Lovie can have all the time he wants. At illinois. Now if he was at NU he better have won a conference title for NU the year prior to his hiring.

Lovie was a great hire for them and he has turned the roster over big time.  They are still 2 years away from being a 6ish team win though.  They basically play all freshmen and sophomores right now.

And 15 of them transferred out after this season.

Lovie Smith did pretty good in Chicago for what he had to work with (Rex Grossman at QB) and he finished 89-87 as an NFL coach. (just over .500 - this looks familiar)

He's coached in the NFL so he's obviously a great coach and he'll be an amazing college coach.

Just imagine what he can do at a place with tons of resources like Illinois once he starts to recruit great players.

LOL....this is an interesting recruiting thread to read through.  Good example of why nobody should get all worked up one way or the other on what an 18 year old kid decides to do.

4* (almost 5 star) kid commits two years before he graduates.

De-commits when programs like OSU, Oregon, UCLA, Baylor start showing interest

Commits to Illinois.....of all places

Now....looking around again.

Meh....if he signs here....great...if not....so be it.
