Idiots.

Hey, it's fine to only get your details from people who already hold the views you agree with. Even better to be upfront about it!

But... Redux doesn't agree or disagree with anyone. He just thinks it's a shame when people state facts to someone because that's the same thing as "piling on."

All she said was that I was interpriting it wrong, twice. She offered no alternative perspective to alter my view.

How am I being a "stick to it" snob if she isn't willing to explain what her complaint "really" means?

And sorry I don't like going into the P&R forum to get kicked around by yall. Just not what I call a good time.
I can't wait for you to hold everyone on this board to this standard. I mean... I know you aren't just fixated on this one person because:

1. They're ideologically different than you

2. They're not the same gender as you

3. They're better at elucidating their point than most people and that's a threat

I mean... it seems that way, but I have faith in you that you'll show us this conclusion isn't true (more than just protestations, ACTIONS).

That's the thing, I don't do that. You assume that because I don't debate eith you guys or jump into the conversations. I don't for mainly two reasons.

1) I don't follow Politics/Current Events as intently as you do. If I can't add to the discussion, why should I pretend to? I could take every word I read on here as gospel but that would be irresponsible for someone who wants to form an opinion by looking at both sides before deciding where I stand.

2) It get's incredibly frustrating and tiresome navigating the labrinth of posts that get thrown at you if you try to explain a differing view. If you disagree with one poster, 1-4 more immediately jump in to flood that poster with questions to wear them down. You guys call it playing the victim but you know fully well what you are doing. It is what it is, you guys currently control the status quo of discussiom and that's fine. I agree with a lot of things you post and don't feel compelled to throw in my two cents. Once in a while I'd throw in a quick differing opinion only to get bombarded and ultimately frustrated for no good reason.

It's just easier to avoid it all here. I have political discussions with my friends that have differing opinions and it's far more constructive, because it's either one on one or a friendly atmosphere.

The real kicker? Here I am once again defending myself against the pack over something completely different than what was originally at hand because one of the pack members was "in danger" or whatever, so the rest jumped in to defend them. That's the thing that drives people away. Agree with me or not, it really doesn't matter. Go ahead and sh#t all over this post, all you want.

Have a great 4th everyone, even those of you who don't respect me or like me.

Yes, your armor is whiter and shinier than most. +1 to you.

You do add to the discussion by trying to portray certain views as flawed. You do this by doggedly characterizing the posters (as biased, dogmatic, or vaguely interpretive, for example) instead of by debating any of their points.

That's a plainly invalid argument. So, you want to have the cake (say what amounts to "You're wrong") and eat it to (avoid having to support your statement because it's unreasonable, tiring, you get jumped on, etc).

There's no dislike or animosity here. It just bears pointing out that this technique is a fallacy.

As for here you are, once again defending yourself? I jumped in because you decided to keep at it with Moiraine. Specifically, I found your request for an explanation in this arena humorous -- you certainly don't pull any punches when you feel you can get a good hit in.

If you have the NextDoor App you can see how many people HATE fireworks and the 4th. It is pretty fun to read the posts.
F*ck that app. My fiancée suggested I download it and it is a 24/7 bitchfest in our neighborhood.

Ha! I know! I can't get enough of the train wrecks on that app. I don't have the notifications on because if I did my phone would explode but I still check it for a good laugh. I think I found out that everyone in my neighborhood has...

1. Small child that hates fireworks

2. Pets that hate fireworks

3. Family member that lives with them that has PTSD and is a vet...and hates fireworks.

Also...everyone is an expert on the neighborhood covenants.

So, basically it is like reading the posts here...

There's a lot of correlation! I've also noticed a lot of people:

1) Lose their dog or spot a 'missing dog'

2) Have a *insert tool or household item here* for sale

3) Saw a suspicious figure doing suspicious things in a suspicious way at pretty much any hour of the day

Ugh. Why did I invite people over? I hate cleaning.
Do what I do:

"Hi. Thanks for coming over. This is what is left: dusting the living room, vacuuming the carpets and cleaning the toilets. After you have passed inspection, I will let you know where the food and drinks are"

So your neighborhood has suspicious figures trying to get rid of tools after dogs go missing? What have you been up to, Enhance?
