One also doesn't have to be upset about Roxy's threads to recognize and comment on the fact that it's odd behavior.

And if you don't think that's odd behavior, that's likely a significanter problem than not being able to figure out how to work the buttons on the board.
Sure, her behavior is odd, but I made no comment about discussing her odd posts. Here's the post I was responding to:

Okay, I'll be the a-hole dousche who actually says it, because I know others are thinking it. Roxy's posts and new inane threads for every random thought are annoying as f#%k. Even without reading them, they still keeping clogging up the board. Yeah, she's harmless, but good freaking lord I wish it would stop. There, I said it.

I don't disagree with him, though. There's something up with that thread she started, and with the "this made me laugh" thread from yesterday right after Redux & I commented. These aren't random.

You are a more patient man than I am if you do not get annoyed by it. But if everyone used the Roxy method of posting, this board would be unreadable/unusable.

Quite often, if someone starts a new thread, and it relates to a different topic, mods will merge it. Or if someone starts a new thread that does not get any response, the poster will get the general idea and not do the same thing anymore. Or if someone says something stupid, they will get called out for it. Some of this is basic etiquette and understanding social cues. I lot of folks here post dumb stuff all the time, including myself, but still tend to follow the norms of the board.

If I started creating new threads with question marks as the title, or a new thread with a selfie, or a new thread with some random joke I heard, I hope that the fine people of Huskerboard would set me straight.

Then by all means start a thread to discuss it. But I don't agree with the idea that Roxy should stop posting in her own thread because it annoys you (or whoever). If she starts putting annoying posts in other threads, then I'd agree. If her thread annoys you, then don't read it. But continuing to read her thread and then complain about it elsewhere is ridiculous.

Maybe I'm missing something. Is your complaint that the thread titles are misleading? Or is she creating a lot of new threads?

Starting a new inane thread to discuss the proliferation of inane threads?

Yes. And the annoyance factor.

The purpose of this 227 page thread is to b!^@h about other posters, which I haven't done very often on HB, and now I feel bad for making such a big deal out of it. But man, it's annoying, that's all.

I thought she was posting in just a couple of the same threads. Is she constantly creating new threads? (You can tell how little it's effected me as I've scrolled on by her threads.)

I'm with @Ulty and @knapplc and @Redux on this one. I don't read her inane threads but when she dominates the new topics and those topics are one post fleeting thoughts, yeah, it's annoying. I have recently seen her create 3 or 4 new topics when the contents of them were directly related and should've all been in the same thread.

I like Roxy and appreciate some of her recipe posts but lately it feels as if she has forgotten how the board works. I don't want her to quit posting and if she wants to post a billion music videos in one thread in the recipe forum, I could give a sh#t. I know one thing, I'm not going to say anything to her about it. Big Ern tried that and she misunderstood the intent and freaked out. It would just be nice if there wasn't a new useless topic for every fleeting thought. And for the love of God, don't let her know about status updates. That would destroy the usefulness of that feature.

Easy fix: just post this in every one of her threads:

The problem is that if you say something to her, she throws a fit and threatens to quit.

Big Ern had this very tame, reasonable request in April:

I like all the pics/recipes but could you do them in the same topic?

MONTHS later, she does this:

Well I have been blocked to start new topic in recipes.  They want me to put them all in one thread and I won’t do that, I have  my reasons. I won’t list all of them but one of them is I started a new thread so it would be easier for members to see when a new recipe has been posted.  They have their reasons and I have mine.  I won’t be posting recipes on this board anymore.  It was fun while it lasted and I wish you all the best in life.

I don’t know Redux. I wanted to do what would be easier for members to see when a new recipe was posted.  It made me happy to help members try a new recipe especially when it came to game day.  I am very sad that they did that.  Not only did it hurt me but it hurts other members who want to try a new recipe.  I am very sad but it is what it is.  I will miss trying to brighten up someone’s day in here.  Hugs

I gather for a lot of people, this episode changed their opinions of our recipe guru.

Yeah once the details came out of that situation it was clear something was off with her.  JJ even tried helping then realized how badly she misinterpreted the situation and what she was actually doing.  She made something like 15 threads one day of literally nothing posts, like a comment like delete or that she screwed up etc
