Ed Foley FIRED

Who exactly guessed that he wouldn't be fired, and would just be moved to HS liason after his contract expired?  Some folks said he wouldn't actually be fired and that was correct, but literally no one suggested this 😂
I think someone did suggest he was not fired, implying he was still ST coach.  Then the pouncing began. The whole debate over, Is he fired if his contract is not extended? And then the “well his contract was up” and then the “no it’s not up”.  Not going back to look tho, I could be wrong.

I will post here every morning until foley is canned.  Perhaps the Tony white news has delayed the inevitable, one can only hope that’s why this guy hasn’t been kicked to the curb yet
I’ve resurfaced friends. I’ve been making my way on foot from Lincoln heading west since I originally made this post 2 months ago. Had i known Ed would still be employed as of this writing I would’ve told you I’d be in the Pacific Ocean by now.

It’s been a hard, cold and bitter journey. While my spirits were lifted by the “meh” win over Boston college, they were quickly dampened when I crossed over the Wyoming border and realized I was in hell.

I kept on my journey. Made it thru Utah, but kept getting held up by these god damn annoying pop up ads on this site. I swear, I would’ve made it all the way around the world by now if I didn’t have to X out every 30 seconds on a random ad as I type. Society these days, I blame Obama.

anyways, I had to do a line of the devil’s dandruff off a vagrants backside to make it thru Nevada, it was halfway thru the line he let me know he was an Iowa fan and I had to let him know, “I’m better than this.”

I crossed over to California on foot when I heard the news Ekeler was coming home. Upon finding the nearest township I asked for the location to the nearest pay phone so I could call home to my wife and let her know I was coming home. The conversation was short, she promptly let me know that she filed for divorce 45 days prior on grounds that a man shouldn’t care this much about a special teams coach for 18-24 year olds. I told her my priorities were in line and i don’t regret a thing. I was met with silence, unsure if we got disconnected or if she hung up.  I guess I’ll find out the status of my marriage when I return to the homestead.

Im still stuck here in the Sierras trying to navigate both an ever changing college football landscape and a steep slope side at once. I’m not sure if this journal entry will make it to this here forum but if it does, just know I’ve tried my hardest. Sometimes our best simply isn’t good enough and perhaps I’ve stumbled into the fallacy that all great men get stuck in.

Anyways, wish me luck. I’m still hunkered down in the sierras, waiting for a reason to be elated about husker football again.  Until next time I resurface with WiFi…

Being friends with Matt seems to be a very good thing.  Dude "fires" people and then keeps them on with a brand new stress free job.

Ad block, use ad block.  I haven't seen but 2 ads on here in a year.

It really is a complete and total breakdown.  Operations that are not robust & stress tested.  Drills & reps that don't instill assignment discipline.  It's the equivalent of a defense that is unprepared to handle motion, shifts, overloads, or bunch formations.  It's 101 stuff.  That punt block vs Iowa was something you see from really bad high school teams with the personal protector literally chasing a non threat to clear a direct alley to the punter.

One thought I have had is I wonder if they are given enough practice time. Hopefully whatever ST coach is hired is able to do some dictating on how much time is necessary to not suck.

There is an argument that could be made not to be using all your offensive and defensive starters on special teams, and that is the practice time.  There are so many hours in a day.  Why not use those 2nd and 3rd stringers that are just hanging out while the offense and defense practice to put in some time on special teams.

Of course that comment makes way more sense in the old roster levels.  I'm not so sure it does on the new levels.  But I guess the NFL does it with a 53 man roster....
