This is so true. His last year of HS was in Buford. Great competition, but his HS is a monster compared to most. Habits were developed there as he was able to get away with them as far as pocket presence and footwork. Then you add in to the mix of moving up to college where every kid on the field pretty much was a dude in HS and oh look you go against DC's that are actually pretty smart and able to find faults of players and offenses.Hang on. "Atrocious" is really harsh. Considering he's a true freshman it's not bad.
I think the bigger issue is needing a higher level of intensity. His internal clock needs to speed up so he can find guys that are open faster.
DR was able to get away with those habits early on as the competition allowed that, but as season aged and the level of experience and intelligence of opposing teams and staffs grew we saw the crude wake up call DR was getting. Was he helped by the staff who might have been slightly resting on the laurels of his early performances???? Probably not.
A full off season with Dana(hopefully) will do him wonders. DH's offense(Hal Mumme disciple) is based on precision and attention to details. Something I'd wager a solid chunk of money Satt's offense couldn't begin to comprehend or stress. Add in what Undone has said about the game slowing down and who knows. Hopefully Profit
