Just normal American Utopia...

@JJ Husker and @teachercd

Status update of being actually in the school building.

I have now been here 3 hours.

7:30-7:55: Coffee in the lounge venting about Monday's in-service

7:55-8:10: Hallway supervision (only needed with kids in building)

8:10-8:20: discussed with class on goals for projects today and deadline changed due to "cold day"

8:20-8:45 Shop supervision

8:45- 9:00: Home room.  Literally said the Pledge and babysat for 10 minutes.

I am currently in the middle of two Study Halls in a row.

I've been here 3 hours, I've only done my "job" for 10 minutes... this is our tax dollars at work...

Ohhh, let me do mine!

7:30 - 10:10:  Sat around, no class to teach.

10:15 - right now:  US History (where I am pushing my beliefs on all the students)

No hallway duty

No morning duty

I did "write" a letter of rec for a student trying to get into college.

I hope no Firefighters read the last several posts in this thread.
I am gonna take a stab at their 24 shift.

7am:  Pull up in brand new 80,000 dollar Tundra, BACK into the parking spot for no reason at all, admire truck.

8am:  Coffee with the fella's while discussing how water puts out fire.

9am:  Get a lift in and haze the new guy.

10am:  Take the actual firetruck out, park IN FRONT of the store and go shopping (I can only assume we pay for this)

11am:  Start meal prep while talking about how fire is hot.

Noon:  Lunch

1pm:  Nap

3pm:  Time to wash the trucks

5pm:  Dinner Prep

7pm:  Watch Backdraft for the 100th time

9pm:  Ask each other "So have any of you actually ever gone into a burning building" take turns laughing.  Make fun of cops.  Make "hose/Penis" jokes while grabbing the fire hose.

10pm:  Scroll Tinder and Bumble making sure that everyone knows you are a firefighter, add 2-3 more pictures with new truck.

11pm:  Go to bed

7am:  Go home
