Lets just say. What if offense changes

This is not about a coaching change. Its a scheme and player fit talk.

So lets just say for some reason we get a nice little change in Offensive schemes and we go to a more power style running game like Wisconsin, Iowa. Where we line up in more I-form, off-set I form. We use the FB and TE's more. And alot less Shotgun read option.

Who now excels or becomes the man under center. Fyfe, Stanton ? I don't think its TA, Darlington or the other guy. (cant think of his name)

I think we have Tight ends and Wr's that can make the switch to that type of Offense and be successful, definitely have the backs to do it.

Whats everyone's thoughts.

 
Ameer bailed his a$$ out the 1st half of the season...without Ameer's Heisman worthy performances (prior to injury) we're a borderline bowl eligible team

 
I would be all for that. Stanton, I believe would be the guy. More of a "pocket passer" than the others.

I just can't believe that it's been 4 years now and we have not adapted to B1G style football, both offensively and defensively. Both are ideal for the big12. Go to a power football scheme on both sides and let's play.

Bo has to get guys with a B1G background to help him, yes Bo, I said help you. I'm a "Bo-leiver" but it's getting tougher and tougher to support you and your boy's club hires. Let Eichorst fire your guys so you don't have to, and let's go get 2 coordinators that have B1G pedigree-type schemes and let's get this ship back on course, not sink it like the Edmund Fitzgerald.

All while trying to run some Wisconsin and Oregon concepts and Kansas circa 2007

For the love of God pick something and run with it. Mike Leach has a philosophy. 60 plays. They develop a new one, they throw out the one that's least efficient and then drill the crap out of what they have....

It's one thing to run something, but at least understand why you run it. Instead of just trying to mirror something without understand the abstract that goes with it

AJ Bush is the other QB. And I think if we decided to make a move like this right now it is going to have to be Armstrong or Fyfe. If we continue with this after this year you recruit to it and then with the players here you pick the best one to put there out of the three. That is your only choice because obviously they cant handle the crap they are supposed to be doing now. Another option would be going to the juco ranks and find one the fits the bill and try to get that person here until we can get the new recruit ready.

 
Unfortunately Bo has shown himself to be very resistant to change. IF (and that's a big if) the head coach would change things and personnel in positions that need fixing, I.e. OC and DC, hire quality staff and let them coach I would begrudgingly give him another shot.

 
Been begging for power I for years. Ran it for a few series vs. MN, and it was gashing them. Of course we go away from it and get fancy, then lost the game as a result. That 2nd and 1 call will forever baffle me.

 
Beck doesn't have the ability to coach what we want. The key is to "decide" what we want and then get a guy who can deliver....

Not te derail, I will be more pi$$ed to see Beck next year on the sidelines than Bo......He's that bad.....

 
It was when we had Cross in the game. I couldn't figure out why in the hell they pulled him and put Abdullah back in when Cross was getting like 5 Plus yards per carry. And, no I don't think Cross is better when they are healthy but that was stupid and it was obvious that Ameer couldn't handle it.

I agree with you. It seemed that when TA was taking the snap from under center and handing it off to Cross, it was working. Cross is good when he can run downhill for a couple of yards before getting to the line. Not so much when being handed the ball next to the QB like AA.
