Media Bias

I think we can judge Donald Trump by the literal words and actions captured on camera, on Twitter, and in the unfiltered choices he's made every day during his 40 year career obsessively courting the media. So while we probably don't need anonymous third party sources to talk s#!t about him, you probably wouldn't put money on those sources being wrong. Or that the purported rumor is worse than everything that's already on record.

Are East Coast media snobs biased against Donald Trump? Of course they are. By now it's clear that everyone who has worked closely with Donald Trump — the people who speak on and off-the-record to the media — are biased against Donald Trump. It's a status Donald Trump went out and earned.

I would agree.  It seems he doesn’t have much of a filter which we agree on.   Yet, people tend to claim all these outlandish claims when somehow only one persons hears it or some anonymous person was told it, etc….

I would tend to believe the family members of who the Mexican heritage military member story is about as they would be most aggrieved vs anonymous sources and those sources that have a political partisan slant in this particular election.  It’s possible Kelley or these anonymous sources is telling us everything exactly as it happened.  It’s also just as possible Kelley and the anonymous sources are embellishing or completely full of s#!t because they hate Trump so much they are willing to compromise some morals in the interest of “saving Democracy”.

Trump really doesn’t seem shy about saying what’s on his mind in very public settings for all to hear.  But we are always told about these super secret conversations right around election time.

Color me skeptical on these types of reports.   Remember the Jan 6th super secret only 2 people knew about it, Trump ragely grabbing the limo driver????    Yeah that never happened as we know now from the actual limo driver.

Putting "saving Democracy" in quotes kinda tips your hand, Arch. For starters, I would stack the integrity, access, and motives of the Kelly's, Mattis', Milley's, Tillerson's, Haspels, and basically the 90% of Trump appointees who refuse to endorse him against the shrinking inner circle of apologists and loyalists.

I'm not even sure about "super secret" conversations anymore. I feel like they've been coming out as they happen for 8+ years now, and we've already established how little they influence anyone. There's a whole other category of critics waving evidence that Trump is straight up lying and grifting his way through this campaign. Again, he doesn't need any exaggeration. Some folks still believe that a discredited dossier means Trump wasn't a$$-deep in Russian entanglements.

I feel sorry for Tony Schwartz, the author Donald Trump hand-picked to write The Art of the Deal in 1987, the autobiography that Trump barely read, much less write. Schwartz had all kinds of access to Donald Trump and has spent the intervening years trying to warn us about what a strange and damaged man Donald Trump is. Schwartz hadn't thought too much of it back when Trump was an ambitious real estate executive, but he did emerge again when Trump started running for office. Who knows. Maybe Schwartz is one of those guys who cares about "Democracy."

The interesting part of this and why I applauded you for catching the quotation….if you are a true believer that our democracy is a stake in this one election, even when that stance is crazy ridiculous, one may choose to fore go that integrity and embellish or make up some details or talking points  to make sure “Democracy is saved”.

But wait…..some of these people of integrity actively promoted this discredited dossier to the media behind closed doors and the public once the discredited stories got published.  So again, when these types of Trump stories come out, forgive me for asking for proof.

Sure. That's fair. At which point you would stack up the discredited or still speculative claims against each candidate, then measure them against the verifiable facts, and recognize Donald Trump's historic unfitness for office, and that he presents at least a credible threat to the checks and balances of democracy, even if Trump doesn't manage to fully dismantle democracy itself.

You can help prove that Donald Trump is no match for the bulwarks of Democracy, Arch. Get off HuskerBoard and turn Kansas blue.

Join me in dismantling this two party system that gave us two candidates who don’t deserve the Presidency.   Vote DeSantis and we fix the nonsense.   Remember it starts with just one, then 2 voters  then 20, then 200, then 200,000, then 20 million then 80 million and the Presidency.  We can do this with your support.

Why would I not vote for Trump only to vote for a shorter version of the same species of pathetic?

And herein lies the issue Kamala is having IMO.  Trump has a verifiable record of him being an actual President and apparently enough people so far are saying they liked it while realizing the threat to Democracy stuff is obviously nonsense and it seems that’s enough people to keep the race close atm.   Biden is more unpopular than Trump was and Kamala is linked to his Presidency and enough people have decided the devil they know is better than the devil they don’t know.

So, Republicans really don’t care about the economy like they try to make everyone believe.

I’m sure they do care.  I’m also sure these were the same economists who claimed we would have a deep recession if Trump were elected in 2016🙄

Its interesting to see the Blue Wall Dem Senators advertising their support for the alleged USA hitler’s economic platform 🤷‍♂️

I'm sure this is going to get the same outrage from people that "crooked" CBS got...but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Remember, one of these interviews was a taped, sit-down style interview that often gives the people involved multiple takes to ask/answer questions and stay within time constraints.  The other was sold as an impromptu visit with the people.

Harris, if she wins, is going to have to do it with two hands tied behind her back, blind folded, and rabid dogs chomping at her ankles.  It is crazy how one sided the deck is stacked!

It’s always projection.

Everybody’s favorite conman is currently threatening to sue CBS for editing her answer during the 60 Minutes interview. He’s full of crap as usual and they called his bluff. And remember, he was too big of a coward or just plain too exhausted to sit down with them himself.
