Memorial Stadium Renovation

Same size but higher quality, I believe. Bringing into the 4K era.

KU stadium ...... At least 3 times larger than HuskerVideo.  Plus good ol' USA (Daktronics) vs. HuskerVideo .... traitor company.

S, N and W - almost done. From blueprint (early '24) to final product (Aug '25).  Due to the extensive construction, Kansas did not play at the stadium for its 2024 season.

Me and my brother will attend Cincinnati Bearcats @ Jayhawks game at September 27. My brother is a BIG KU fan both basketball and football. He lives in Topeka.

Once the athletic department put a pause on this project the price tag for completing it was only bound to increase due to inflation, tarrifs, etc.

The final price on this project is going to be a very large number - there is no avoiding that.

The only thing that is important now for the university is to:   GET. THIS. RIGHT.

They are only going to have once chance at this thing once they start so they have to get this right.

They have to thread the needle and find a balance between what they want, what the experts are telling them, and by what the fans want. It will be exciting to see what they unveil once they are ready to go public again with their proposal - probably sometime next month in June.

Sure, get it right, but also do it in my lifetime.

I don't give a s#!t about KU's stadium, where's the renders and plans for Memorial? Feels shocking that we don't have anything out yet.
Usually agree but my brother is big KU fan input.  My main thing, much different cost ..... KU, $191M, NU, $500M-$1B 😲

Anyhow, me and my brother will attend Cinci Bearcats at Jayhawks game, September 27th.

On-time, on-budget. Unusual. From blueprint to final product .... only 21 months.  KU did not play at the stadium for its 2024 season.

I found these two paragraphs very interesting, especially the bolded.

South stadium will still undergo changes, similar to what was originally planned under Alberts, but a portion of the overall cost will come from changes being made on the west side of the stadium. The lower portion of the west bowl in particular will undergo a facelift, with one "level" moving to three.

Each “level” of the new west side will have its own club level. Chairbacks are expected as well. Field club levels could be in the cards, similar to what we've seen happen at stadiums like AT&T or SoFi, homes of the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams/Chargers, respectively.
I've been advocating something similar, tearing out the old risers back to the original towers and facade and rebuilding those.  Effectively adding more space for each riser and getting the stands closer to the field and maybe a bit higher at the base level to see over the players.  They should do this in on the east side as well.
