Michael Jordan: GOAT

Personally I'm taking AI (Allen Iverson) over John Stockton any day of the week!!

As for Lebron yeah he's easily not in my top 10 if I had to put one together.  The guy could score 30 points but his game has just always bored me.  There are so many other/more dynamic players in the league who don't get half the coverage that he has and still continues to receive.
I loved Iverson, yo!!!  :w00t

He's right there on Team B.

Bird was just out of my Top 10 a couple years ago, because I just couldn't see him defending or being challenged by the quicker, more athletic,  three-point shooting forwards he'd be up against. But spend a little time on the Bird highlight videos: you had some really great defenders executing a Stop Larry Bird strategy, and they still couldn't. The baddest men in basketball were afraid of Bird, and he punished anyone who wasn't. If Bird was considered a defensive liability, I haven't heard it.
Can you wonder with today's game, the importance of the 3-point shot, how well Larry Legend would have done each night?  He never shot more than 3 a game on average.  Bird would perhaps sink 8-10 of those shots each night, plus his rebounding, passing and running fast breaks, mid-range shots and free throws.  If he was selfish he could have scored 40 a night.

In the middle of his run he was getting bored and Bird announced to his teammates that he would play left-handed against the Trailblazers just for kicks.

47 points. 14 rebounds. 11 assists.

He reverted to right hand a bit in the fourth quarter. Still.

He was among the 4 or 5 GOAT(s), depending on who you ask.  And in era when the NBA was struggling until Bird and Magic.

Thankful for Jordan coming along shortly after.  MJ is considered the GOAT, and I have nothing against people who believe that.  He might have been.  I think Jordan is definitely 1 of the 5 goat(s).

Some of the all-time greats are playing in the NBA right now.

LeBron, Curry, Giannis, Durant for sure. I have a problem with Chris Paul, but most folks say he's already there.

We're in the early days of Luka, Ja Morant, LaMelo Ball, this Panchero rookie, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander  They could be legends. Jokic just needs a couple more seasons. Maybe Embid. Devin Booker.

A healthy and motivated Kawhi Leonard could have been an all-timer. His door is closing. Zion Williamson looked like a generational talent, but every time you look up, he's not playing. He's got time, but you gotta wonder if that body is gonna betray him.

Every game I also see young — like really young — players I don't recognize with cold-blooded moves and instincts taking it to veteran teams. OKC was not the least bit intimidated by LeBron, Anthony Davis, and the Forum crowd.

Anyone else you think might be an all-timer we're watching in the early stages?

I wouldn't walk across the street to see any of them if the tickets were free.

We used to adjust work schedules to watch bulls playoff games.

Who didn't love watching the Bulls in their prime?

I've been an NBA fan since the '72 Lakers, but I have no problem giving the new players their due. If you're stuck in the Jordan era, you're missing some great ball.

I loved Moses Malone. Gets left out of a lot of the debates, but he was a serious force and a winner.

Where do Harden and Westbrook end up?

I don't like their games and they don't win championships, but they've got a lot of big numbers.

Where do Harden and Westbrook end up?

Saw this posted today:

Career Stats:

Steph Curry: 24.5 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 6.5 APG, 1.6 SPG, 0.2 BPG, 3.1 TOPG

Russell Westbrook: 22.5 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 8.4 APG, 1.6 SPG, 0.3 BPG, 4.1 TOPG

So Curry gets one more basket per game.  Westbrook as a significant edge in rebounding and assists.  Curry with the edge in turnovers.  Others basically even.

Harden: 24.8 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 7.0 APG, 1.5 SPG, 0.5 BPG, 3.7 TOPG

So you'd probably have to go Westbrook > Harden > Curry on all-around games.  I thought Curry might have more of an edge in not turning the ball over but not really that much.

MJ got screwed in 1992-1993 season vs Barkley.  MJ was the better player and the 1996-1997 season as well.
