I mean ... Jordan is at the top of the list for most selections to the All-Defensive First team (9).  Pippen was All-Defensive First Team 8 times and Second-Team twice more.  Rodman was First-Team 7 times and Second-Team once.  The Warriors have Green with three firsts and two seconds and then Thompson with one second.  Curry and Durant haven't made it.

The Warriors may have prided themselves on defense but they don't hold a candle to the Bulls.

And who would Curry guard?  My god, MJ?  Pip?  

Plus, the Bulls could just slap Pip on Curry and MJ on Klay.  Rodman on KD, those are all wins for the Bulls.

Andre Iguodala.

Draymond Green.

Nobody has consistently shut down Kevin Durant, and Pippen and Rodman would be no different.  Even if you shut down Durant, either Curry or Thompson or both go off.  If you hold Jordan to 30 or even 40, you might get some scoring help from Kukoc or Kerr/Paxson off the bench, but I don't think the Bulls would win the footraces or the catch & shoot barrages. 

Still, if I had to put my money on it.....I probably wouldn't.  My money is on the 1983 Philadelphia 76ers.

Good question.

Guys like Draymond and Andrew Bogut would probably love 90s rules. Steph, not so much. But he's pretty abused as it is without getting the calls. 

Jordan would be thrilled by today's rules, where you can pretty much take as many steps as you want without traveling.

Man, Andre or Green on MJ?  That is asking for two foul outs and 50 for MJ

The issue is, you have MJ who can guard 1,2,3

Pip who can guard 1-4

and Rodman who can guard 3-5

You know GS is getting out rebounded.

I would see it 4-2. bulls.

Not quite so sure on Green but Iggy is a great defender and would give him fits.

But it's curious that you apparently don't give the same defference to the Bulls' own 6-7 All-Defensive team member who not only had more All-Defensive selections but was on the 50 Greatest Players of All Time list.  Yet you act like he has not chance of slowing Durant or Thompson down.

Yes, defense in the NBA now is not the same.  MJ would have Green fouled out in 12 minutes.  MJ playing in a league where they no longer allow contact?  The first half would take 3 hours with MJ at the line for 25 FT attempts. 

It was not so much about the defenders back then, it was how they could defend.

Iggy could not stay in front of MJ.  You are better off putting a smaller fast guy on MJ and living with his turn around jumper in the post, instead of a bigger slow guy that will just let MJ create his shot anytime he wants it.

 
Don't forget that illegal defense is totally different now too. MJ would have a lot less one-on-ones in today's game.

 
I'm loving the suggestion in this thread that the Bulls would have no issue shutting down the combination of Durant (Who is a better scorer than anyone the Bulls ever saw, and might be the most versatile scorer ever), Curry (The best shooter ever, who knocks down 3s at a much higher clip than the Bulls ever seen. He also, relentlessly moves without the ball), and Thompson (who might also be a better shooter than anyone the Bulls ever played, and he's one helluva defender. The Warriors would completely overwhelm those Bulls teams. I mean, the best version of those Bulls teams lost 2 games in the Finals to Malone, Stockton.... And Hornacek?
