The thing that bothers me is I hit the banner and I want it to link to huskernation.com......not the scoring contest, i'd rather put a link for that

I'll propose this. Have the HuskerNation.com banner link to HN.com. Then, put a smaller text link underneath the HN banner that says "Enter the Contest Here" (and make the word 'Here' a link.) or "Enter your Prediction Here". That way, you get the HB banner link back to the home page, HN linking to HN but still advertising and an easy way to get to the Prediction thread.
