New Mods

Team HuskerBoard
With the increased activity, I think it would be beneficial to have some more reliable eyes watching over the halls of hboard. Of course not that you guys arent "popping locking & dropping it" (a compliment - to show you guys Im still hip), but the season usually about doubles our activity, so it may be tough to keep up. So if everyone could PM me their recommendations for new Mods, then I'll take the names that get the most mentions and post them here to discuss and get consensus.

Ya know, this brings up another point. Chad, is it possible to set up group names? What I mean is this - if I'm sending a PM to a member to, say, give him the Woodsehd number, I can only CC six people. If I include all the Admins, that leaves only three more names for the Mods, which means that a couple of folks don't know what I've done, and they may end up sending that same member the same information. And, of course, if we want to PM a member about behavior, that's even worse.

Is it possible through the Board to set up groups, such as Admins or Mods, or both, that resolve to all of us for purposes of PMs? It would come in handy when things start jumping around here in a few weeks.

To be honest I don't know we need MODS in every forum....our two biggest forums are Husker Football and recruiting. SHould we just get mods in certain forums?

Good questoin. currently there are groups set up which include all the admins, mods, huskerweekly, etc. however, the PM app wont allow you to enter these names to send directly to a group. The only way Ive been able to do this is in the admin panel itself.

Sure, we could limit a few to specific forums, i.e. huskeraddict or huskerguy could be the A/V mods only. speaking of which -- for those that keep up a little better than I do with daily posting, do you think either of them would be trustworthy for this type of thing? or any others who excel in that forum? I think we need someone that will keep that place clean, b/c it seems to be getting a little unorganized with wallpaper in the main forum etc.

I think both would work fine for that forum.

I really don't know who I would nominate at this point. I think we have enough, but like Eric said maybe we just need to target them a little better when adding.

As far as the PM thing, that would rule if you could send to groups. Some 1337 haxor has to know how to do that.

Can we use the groups when the mods are listed on the index page? Right now, all the mods are listed individually AND the groups are listed..

That's where I'm leaning, I don't know who I would nominate. Recruiting is my baby, but with the paid services it's so hard to trust anyone. But I need serious help with the moderating. Mike and I do our best.
