The question is simple who will/ who you want to be the starting QB by the big 12 schedule next year. Since Witt left the answer from the poll earlier. And I added all possible choices per huskers.com and rivals (Martinez was a QB in HS, but haven't heard any "expert" say he will be a QB in college.)

Personally I am picking Green, I think Lee will start the first 3 games with Lee getting about 30% of the snaps, and then Green gets his first start against Lousiana Layfette.

Personally I want Green or Spano, the stuff I heard about Lee doesnt make me think he will be a great husker QB. But honestly I just want NU to win no matter who the QB is

 
What have you heard about Lee that would make you not want him as a starter? I personally would love for Lee to start for two years and then have Green start for three after learning the system and become more mature.

What exactly have you heard OP? From what I know, he's a pretty smart guy and impresses the coaches. And if the accusation that Lee was being favored by the coaches over Witt is true, obviously they see something in him.

 
im kinda curious myself, what is wrong with lee? i havent seen anything other than people thinking he is injury prone after suffering ONE injury at the end of JUCO...

Quarterback Zac Lee heads into fall camp locked in a tight battle for the No. 2 quarterback spot behind senior Joe Ganz. Lee had an impressive spring practice session and will continue to compete with Patrick Witt for the backup job. Lee possesses a strong arm and also has good mobility, which adds another dimension to the offensive attack.

The 6-2, 210-pound Lee arrived at Nebraska in January of 2007 from San Francisco City College, but was limited to light throwing because of a knee injury. Lee was back on the field during the fall, but sat out as a redshirt. He made an impact on the scout team and earned Offensive Scout Team MVP honors.

2007 (Redshirt)

Lee was one of six players in the 2007 class to join the team in January. He sat out his first season with the Huskers and earned Scout Team MVP honors for his work at quarterback.

Before Nebraska (St. Ignatius Prep/San Francisco City College)

Lee came to Nebraska following a highly successful 2006 season at San Francisco City College, the same school as former standout Husker receiver Maurice Purify. Lee had a standout campaign for Coach George Rush, with more than 3,400 passing yards and 35 touchdowns while completing 64 percent of his passes. His performance led San Francisco City College to a 10-2 record and an appearance in the California junior college title game. The San Francisco City College offense averaged nearly 40 points per game with Lee at the controls. Lee was ranked as the nation's top junior college quarterback by Rivals.com, Scout.com and SuperPrep Magazine.

Lee sat out the 2005 season before enrolling in junior college in January of 2006, giving him four years to use three seasons of eligibility at Nebraska.

Lee starred in both football and baseball at St. Ignatius College Prep in San Francisco. He was a three-year all-league quarterback in high school, but focused much of his time on baseball, limiting his Division I football scholarship offers out of high school. Lee chose Nebraska after also receiving strong recruiting interest from Oklahoma, Fresno State and Mississippi State among others.

Personal

Lee was born April 26, 1987, and is the son of Bob and Janice Lee. His father played quarterback for 12 seasons in the NFL from 1969 to 1980, spending time with the Vikings, Falcons and Rams. The elder Lee had his best season in 1973 when he threw for more than 1,700 yards for the Falcons. Bob Lee also served as the athletic director at University of the Pacific. Zac is majoring in business administration and was named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the spring semester."

 
Lee is our guy but I had to vote Spano because someone named Ruiz had a vote. And that seemed ridiculous to me. Unless it's you Zach and your here to vote for yourself. Which is cool I guess. :hmmph

 
I voted for Zac...because you didn't ask who I wanted, but who would be the QB at midseason. My vote would have gone to Green if I got to vote on who I want to be "the guy".

Unless Zac gets hurt, it is his to lose. The real battle will be for number 2 positon...and that is Spano's at this point if they red shirt Green, if they don't red shirt him, then it will be up in the air.

That is this coming season (2009)...the real battle of the QB's could come into play the following season (2010), unless Zac takes a real leadership position and then performs big-time. If he doesn't, it could be a battle between Green and Spano, with the loser transferring out IMHO.

Personally I would like to see either Spano or Green come out this spring and just out-play everyone and be a leader. It would be good for the program not to have a QB controversy for a few years and have some continuity at that position in particular. Personally, I am tired of having a QB that only starts for a year then graduates, at least now it looks like we might be down to a 2 year minimum if whoever starts is clearly heads and tails above the others.

What ever happens, the future looks good IMHO. Especially with Witt out of the picture. I didn't see anything in the limited playing time he got to knock my socks off - and I was kind of not looking forward to him being "the guy", and the way everyone was talking, that is where we could have been headed. Everything works out for a reason...and I think it definitely did in his case, I personally will not miss him.

I honestly cant remember who has said it but, someone on USC (maybe Sipple) said that he may not be tough enough and doesn't know the offense that well (but probably no one does). It was my opinion, I respect your opinion on Lee but I do not agree.
