You know ou self reported this and kicked thier starting qb off the team 2 weeks before the seson start. I think thats why they got IMO minor punishment.
Which leaves usc. What in the hell is the ncaa going to do about hundreds of thousands of dollars going to players families??
No offense meant to any SC fan here it just doesnt seem that things are shaking out evenly.

I would not say that taking away every win they had that year to be a "slap on the wrist." If there's precedent for this, I wouldn't say they've got a good shot at succeeding in their appeal, but I for one hope OU gets this appeal through. I can't say I know too much about the case to be able to divine who is responsible, but Bob Stoops was pure class in doing the right thing when he learned about it. I don't think he could have handled the situation much better than he did, and this whole affair seems to be so wrong and unfair on the part of the NCAA.
Of course, it's reasonable that if OU loses credit for their W's, the teams they beat still retain the loss and all of the stats accumulated in those games.
But come on, NCAA. USC has a much bigger scandal on their hands. I don't see them self-reporting, admitting anything, or handing out the deserved punishments. Continue cracking down on the big schools? For whatever reason, the NCAA looks like it doesn't have the balls to start.

This "punishment" is a crock of HORSE CHIT! WTF is giving back the 2005 season and two schollies a year really gonna do? Yet sCUm gets hammered with giving away free meals to athletes. Just goes to show ya the "leet" programs get special treatment! I am by no means sticking up for the sCUm on this but the NCAA is so consistently unconsistent! Maybe this their way of making up for poor wuttle stoopsey who got screwed in the Oregon game.

where will stoops coach at now??? don't most cheating coaches and AD's get fired???? oh no, they just got big raises at OU. and where is Boren???? he was all upset over a fumble. this is not bigger than a fumble???? as sad day in the big 12 where cheating coaching staffs just get slaps on the wrists...and Quinn said it was just money. and if they continued to dig deeper, they say that AD peterson was involved too, but he was too big a superstar to continue to dig deeper. Basically all OU has to do is rewrite their media guides, WHAT KIND OF PUNISHMENT IS THAT?? I sure would like a system that dishes out a "punishment" only to find out that you have pretty much already served it!!! The only people that the two less scholarships are going to hurt are the walk-ons at OU that may have gotten a scholly for their efforts. Like I said, this was a very minor slap on the wrist, and they want to appeal it!! HA!!!

but Osborne thought that football was the only thing that could save him so he let him play for half the 95
