I'm gonna just put all my thoughts into this exchange here.
Did Tommie bring valid points and represent views that a large percentage of the fan base feel? Yeah. Did he go about it correctly? Hell no. I will not get into the beaten horse of the facts that Tommie has been super critical of Bo since the whole Brion situation. I won't get into the piece of work he is off the field as it is a well known fact, and what i witnessed personally with my wife. What I do take issue is this guy coming off calling for coaches heads and how the program should be ran. From a guy that knows first hand how hard the profession is, and has no room to talk about trashing a schools tradition and reputation after the major sh#t storm he was responsible for down in Crete. Three wins and so many non professional/shadey actions later and this is the last guy who should be spouting off about the coaching profession to a broad audience.
A one on one conversation with Bo( highly unlikely to have occurred in a timely matter) or with Shawn E or an athletic Administrator. This had been brought up by some on here and its how it probably should have been handled. But alas
Now I like what Bo said, but again the handling of the situation was terrible, even more damning to him in the light of the deadspin ordeal ( which reeks of Dirk). The media, as discussed, in no way helped the situation. And as also been said Bo was damned if he did reply or damned if he didn't in the eyes of so many. I wish he would have handled it differently but I would sure as hell defend myself, staff, and team to a guy that got ran out of Crete for multiple faults.
