PSA: Quit being dumb fans

They brought up the booing on an Indiana call that went against them. The refs deserved to be booed for their lack of holding calls on the last drive and the multiple blocks in the back missed, on the long punt return. Sometimes, when you are doing your job poorly, you deserve to be called out.

Also, this team played poorly with a lot of weapons out. Indiana aint the indiana i knew growing up. This team fought. Last year, this is a loss.

Yeah, I'm hoping Nebraska sends this in to Big Ten HQ.

But there were bound to be games where we weren't going to get the calls. This was one of them and I'm glad we managed to win.

I don't think the ref's did a bad job, Nebraska did not play a very well today. Many of the calls were on Nebraska for the same things we have been talking about all year. Clean up the penalities and we win by 21.

My comment was directly specifically at "dumb fans", not Husker fans in general. Nothing rude about calling an idiot and idiot when they're being an idiot.
Evidently, Nebraska only has "the world's greatest fans" when dealing with Oregon fans and not with each other.

They called a good game on us, think you can find very little argument about the calls they made on us. But man were they blind when it came to Indiana. Lot of missed holding calls with one of the most egregious being on IUs last TD where the tackle grabbed and pulled Akinmoludun to the ground.

The officiating was horrendous, to many holds and blocks in the back not called. to lenient in the passing game. I can go on.

But how he gaffed on the fumble review, getting hoosier fans hopes up like that just to crush them, was horrible.

These guys need to be disciplined by the league office, not seriously, just a slap on the wrist for a lazily called game.

Guess I'm in the wrong section.

I took my brother-in-law and his wife to the game. He is an ISU fan. He made the comment that "Wow, you guys boo every call against you?" and I responded with "Yeah, that's what our fanbase views as normal behavior"
Are you sure this wasn't directed at "Husker fans in general"?

All fanbases boo refs. It's a part of the job.

PS: Nice job with the unnecessarily rude title.

And no, you don't boo the refs. That isn't the job of a fan. Your job is to support the team. How does booing the refs for making a correct call support the team? "Hey, it's ok that you committed that penalty. refs are stoopid. lulz."
By posting a post like this in the public Husker forum, then you are in a way addressing Husker fans in general. And nobody likes bad calls, no we do not boo every call. Fans boo BAD calls, the magnitude of how bad it has to be varies from fan to fan. It's not that big of a deal. Better people boo refs than injured players like what we just saw from Indiana at Freedom.
Have you been to a home game this year? I've been to all of them. We boo every call, regardless the validity. So yes, I agree. Fans boo bad calls. I'm saying we need to quit booing every call. Seems like we're on the same page. I also agree. Booing an injured player is not good, but at the same time, they were running a tempo offense. Not sure if Freedom was actually injured or just tired. I seriously don't know.
Also I specifically stated I'm addressing "dumb fans". Your first point is invalid.
I have also been to every home game. With the exception of a few ignorant fans, nobody boos noticeably good calls.

Really? I've been to numerous road games to watch Nebraska (including Jack Trice Stadium) and the home fans boo most calls against their team.

This isn't a Nebraska thing, it's pretty darn common .

Do you guys remember the Michigan state game at Memorial where there were so many bad calls in the first half that the fans (including me) booed the refs as they left the field in the Southwest corner?

I remember Pelini being pissed at the fans after that game because he didn't get that we were booing the refs. Both during the bad calls and at the half.

To me, Pelini just didn't understand that aspect of how fans were supporting the team. He was paranoid.

We weren't booing every call that went Nebraska. We were fans that understand the rules of football very well, and know when we are being screwed.
