He also likened it to referring to someone as butthurt. What is everyone's opinion on this term's use on HB, as it has become part of the national lexicon and has found its way onto HB over the past year?
As it pertains to the term butthurt, Frank made this comment in another thread that I tend to agree with. However, unless both terms are being used in jest, I am not sure what other context it would not be used as a personal attack.
The use of the term snowflake was debated in a thread by members about a month ago. Here is the main argument against its use.
Again, I don't think it is the term that is offensive, in itself, but it is used as a personal attack. Right now, though, it is a popular culture meme with clear connotations, so I don't see how you can not call someone a snowflake without intending to attack them.

El DiacoMy issue is that its use is seemingly allowed and ignored. I don't particularly care who or what side of the political spectrum the user is affiliated with. To my knowledge it has only been directed at me maybe once but that isn't my issue. Although I would rather be called other unmentionable names and accused of being butt hurt than to be called a delicate little special snowflake.

So long as they aren't using it for personal attacks, we're fine with it. It's not the term - it's the context.

That snowflakes sh#t has got to stop. It applies to the people using it just as much as it applies to the people they're calling it.
And it's another way of telling people who truly have gone through persecution that they're either full of sh#t or they don't matter.
