Solich worshipers are not True Husker fans

This Solich vs. Callahan thing has gotten out of control. There is a small, vocal minority of Solich worshipers who apparently wish Solich was still out coach. Face it, Frank is gone and he is never coming back. Bill Callahan is our coach now. And he’s here to stay.

This leads me to ask the question of this thread: Can someone continue to support Frank Solich over Bill Callahan and still be a true Husker fan—that is, want what’s best for NU? I say "NO", so all you Solichistas put on your green leotards and get the hell out of Nebraska! :steam
Let's get one thing straight, I DO NOT wish that Solich was still our coach. What gripes my hide is the smear campaign launched on him by one Mr. Steve Pedersen to cover his own a$$ after the 2004 season, and that it is perpetuated by your circle-jerk over at BRB. Anyone can go over there and do a forum search on "Solich" and see what I mean.

Sorry, but pissing all over a man who gave most of his life to the program is about as classless as you can get.

First, those who are upset with how the program has stagnated are not the vocal minority. If you listen to any local talk show not controlled by Steve Pederson, there are more who are frustrated and growing less patient with the current regime than are satisfied with it. Only on the Internet are there more anti-Solich people.

Second Frank is a Husker. He poured his blood, sweat, and tears onto the turf at Memorial Stadium. He coached for over 20 years here, was a big part of multiple New Year's Day/BCS bowl games, numerous conference championships, 3 National Championships, and coached 2 Heisman winners. These are simply things that Callahan has not done, and likely never will.

Saying that, you should still support Callahan and hope for the best, but to totally disrespect Solich is totally anti-Husker, something I would expect from a BRB Pederson stooge .

I as well am so f'ing sick of the Solich/Callahan crap. For god sake, it has been 4 years, count em, 4 years...I'm one of the few in the minority that thinks that if God Almighty Osborne didn't hand pick his shortness, we wouldn't even be having this conversation, still. Jesus H Christ, get the f over it already. Coach Callahan will do great things here if only the 'good' people of NE give him a freaking chance.

Change is not always a bad thing my friends.
I have no idea wtf you are talking about, he IS getting his chance.

No his is not. I'm not going to waste my time and emotion on this bullsh#t argument anymore.

You are either on board or your are not. My guess would be that you are not.

Does he still have a job? I don't blame you for not wanting to waste your "time and emotion" on an argument you're going to lose. Anyone else want some?

Not going to lose my friend. I never lose. Coach Callahan will bring great things to the University of Nebraska if only given a fair chance, whether you and your negamites like it or not. AND I won't be the one to say "I told you so" when it happens and rest assured, it will happen. Now go away.

I think this will all go away when we are back on top of the big 12 and more. It is not far away. When we do get back up there I hope the smug son of a b!^@h SP doesn't gloat to much and talke all the credit.

TO and FS did do some great things for us but that time has passed and we are in the BC era now. BC WILL do some great things as well and I for one am going to enjoy the ride.

GBR

care to explain the smear campaign that SP started on FS?
Since you apparently have been living under a rock, after the disappointing 2004 season is when it started. SP had to figure out a way shift the blame from Callahan, so he basically blamed it on Solich for his poor recruiting. Never mind that we went 10-3 with his recruits the year before.

What are you calling a "fair chance"? Ten effing years? Why wasn't Frank given a "fair chance" with his rebuilt staff?
