Tangent Thread - P&R Edition

Yes. But this does explain a lot.
Totally agree.  Now I see why some of you drive yourself crazy.

A wise teacher told me once "When I grade essay tests, I pull of the cover page first so that I don't know who wrote it until after I have put the grade on it...I don't want the persons name to influence my thoughts on what they have written"

I despise the guy, but seriously considering voting  for him out of spite this time because of the bias.

Fox news is very middle of the road, politically, except for the commentary by a few pundits on their own shows.   The other cable news channels are basically left wing propaganda outlets.  Even the ‘big theee’ ABC, CBS, NBC lean left of most Americans politically.

Well just to be fair, the President of the United States is an unprincipled grifter who demonstrably lies almost every time he opens his f#&%ing mouth, has broken the emoluments clause almost notstop since his election, and continues to warp the Constitution to his personal favor, propped up by supporters who refuse to believe they're being grifted. Donald Trump has suckled at the teat of the media his whole adult life, and frankly they've been far too kind to him.

Say, I thought we were pulling this stuff out of this forum?

Loved your paragraph response and got a big chuckle out of your last sentence. That shot probably went over his head

Why do these morons compare the amount of negative news between Trump  and Biden and between Trump  and Obama?

Trump is a f#&%ing a$$h@!e who does and says horrible s#!t. Ya, he's going to get more negative news articles. Neither Obama nor Biden are perfect but comparatively they are angels. No bias is necessary for Trump to get far more negative s#!t written and spoken about him. I'm tired of dumb people who don't understand what bias is talking about bias.

And to dumb it down for the dumb people if any dumb people are reading, if people say a bunch of mean things about Stalin and a bunch of nice things about Mother Theresa, it doesn't mean they're biased for Mother Theresa.

Several states have taken the first steps in banning youth football before the age of I think 12 or 14. Very predictable who the states are California,  Illinois, New York etc

https://brainlaw.com/youth-tackle-football/

These are one of the first steps to making the game less popular and take the numbers down

The fastest growing participant youth sport is now flag football. The numbers for full contact youth football were declining long before you got a red state/blue state bee up your bonnet. According to my brother, a high school teacher in Lincoln, it wasn't concussion danger, helicopter moms, or regulatory zeal that brought participation down from our glory days, it was students who'd rather get an after school job and buy a car than have a coach yelling at them during wind sprints.

Maybe we're a bunch of pussies. But Mike Ditka, Brett Favre and other football warriors have said that knowing what they know now, they'd never let their kids play the sport.

Why haS  the college football - want to play vs don’t want to play separated right down the red state/ blue state line?

why is football so very popular in the hard core red states while most of the blue states it’s an afterthought or barely hanging on?

And select sports.  Kids are tricked into thinking they need to specialize, they don't.

The second part, you are right, HS football has become insane with the amount of hours dedicated to it.

Monday-Thursday morning weights/film/playbook tests.  Practice from 3-6ish

Friday, morning meetings, after school you have an hour to yourself then pre-game from 5-7pm

Saturday, practice/lift/shakeout film

Sunday, film from home

It is stupid.

Probably has something to do with there being pro teams and more to do in Urban areas, which are taditionally "blue states".

This seemed pretty appropriate in the Football thread, where it was in response to Omaha fan belaboring this agenda for several hundred posts which are still sitting there. Unlike mine.
