Also, the story is 1890 is one of the few collectives that withholds taxes and makes quarterly payments on the athlete's behalf.

I think Rhule's statement about what it was going to take earlier in the week was a strategy play.  What I took from that statement was "We are going to pay up", not "This is what it costs".

These collectives have a "money grab" feel to them that make politics seem above board.  An overhead % of zero, pleasant & shocking surprise.

The last couple years, I always heard that QBs coming out of HS being paid a lot, was contingent on them starting.  I haven't heard that recently.  

I wonder when these will start having performance incentives in them.  Something like, your base pay is $500,000.  You get the rest if you start, completion percentage over %65, better than 2-1 TD/INT ratio, less than 7 fumbles, team wins 9+ games.

Or, is it just going to be, you get $2 mill for just signing and showing up.

I would speculate they will move closer to professional contracts sooner rather than later.  Thus, incentives.
