But let's skip the searches and just settle it here. The simple fact is that "lawfare" was a term created by Trump supporters to accuse the federal government of partisan witch-hunting, but the phrase was retired the day after the election.

Eh, probably not. I think most wealthy businessman would have skated in most jurisdictions. Falsifying business documents is pretty tame stuff, even if it happens in the name of paying hush money out of campaign funds to the porn star you banged while your wife was at home with your new baby. Why do the lawfarists keep wanting to portray Trump as a criminal sleezebag? 

Trump probably should have been convicted of felony tax fraud multiple times over the past 30 years. Most folks wouldn't get off for mishandling classified documents or divulging state secrets like Trump has, either. Trump has also fared better on his sexual assault charges than the Central Park Five, and they were actually innocent.

Trump wasn’t guilty of a sex assault charge either.   And the defamation lawsuit was a Manhattan special too IMO.
