The Offending Posts Commentary Thread

Maybe I'm just lazy but I do tend to move posts that aren't necessarily "Offending" there just because they don't need to be where they're originally posted for one reason or another and that's a good place to dump them.  Usually they don't necessarily break any rules but they are toeing the line closely enough that it's a way to let people know that we probably don't need that kind of stuff without giving out warnings and such.

It would probably be more precise to have a "Unnecessary Posts" thread or something like that.

 
I don't really care but sometimes I miss the conflict and general hate and discontent. Sometimes it's more interesting than everyone singing Kumbaya.

 
Truth be told, there are plenty of places out there where one can discuss sports in a more colorful fashion. I've always preferred Huskerboard for its ability to stay above the riffraff while knowing that, if I ever wanted a different experience, there were plenty of places out there that I could go. Places like Tigerboard and Shaggybevo are/were cesspools. Some people like that kind of stuff. I never have.

There are a lot of people on this board who have been encouraged to check out some of those other, more vibrant options in the past, and not always of their own free will.

 
Yeah, it’s a delicate balance for sure and it can tip too far into the abyss if a handle isn’t kept on it. But there sure are times it would be nice if you could just plainly tell somebody they’re being a jack wagon when they are in fact being a jack wagon.

These wacky avatars are exactly why I keep AdBlock running on this site. I've whitelisted some of the advertisers so they get their revenue, but I've blocked that GSG avatar, Landord's stupid avatar, Ric Flair's avatar, etc.
