The P&R Plague Thread (Covid-19)

It's going to be so interesting to see how many freak out and drop out of the military to avoid the vaccine.
It'd be idiotic of them if any did, IMO.

We've heard time and again from former/active military members that vaccinations are a part of military life. I just talked to someone who went through basic in December/January of this past year. He said he had two straight day of shots/vaccinations, somewhere between 10-15 total. He doesn't remember half of them and didn't recognize half of them. COVID was one of them and they're mandatory. No getting around them unless you have a legitimate, medically verified reason.

This often gets lost in the Covid shuffle in terms of the under 70 hospitalizations and deaths.
1000% agree.

Imagine how healthy this country would be if some people put as much energy into their general health as they do mask/vaccine angst and debates. Perhaps it doesn't eliminate the need for vaccines and masks in some situations, but it certainly would positively impact the average individual's ability to fight the disease and diseases in general.

Data from NYT’s. Easy to look up.  If deaths were occurring at the same rate based on infections from previous peak, FL would be at over 50% more deaths.  Shows vaccines have helped and better treatment has helped.

I made claim at all on vaccinated vs unvaccinated, so I feel no need to show any graph on that.
It's hardly decoupled.  Not like it has in the UK.  That was the hope right?  Well it hasn't happened yet.  Maybe we'll see it do so during the next wave.

Here's two graphs from the New York Times.  That's not decoupled to the extent we had hoped.  Better leadership would have helped.

At this point we are running roughly 35-40% less deaths than a similar point in the winter wave. Both nationwide and in Florida.  Deaths per case

Due to those who were smart enough to get vaccinated. But it's not good enough.  Deaths are at a pandemic high in Florida.  Not how I would define decoupled.

Boy, I remember long ago when a certain someone thought DeSantis was promoting Monoclonal Antibodies because of a donor having a very small position in Regeneron.  I wonder how much Fauci must have :)
i wonder if that fauci statement will make it to 1 of desantis "don't fauci florida" coozies?

So people buying their way into the vaccination database.  Makes you wonder how many and if that in anyway affects the breakthrough cases data.
