The P&R Plague Thread (Covid-19)

How funny would it be though if the president who's downplaying this would become infected?! While I hope it stops in its tracks soon, that would be some major karma considering he's mocking this whole situation.

Now I’m hungry for Campbell’s soup but I don’t wanna eat part of my emergency stash. Time to get a bunker that can only be unlocked when 2 people get their eyes scanned at the same time.

The final draft of the report remains classified but the two officials who have read it say it contains warnings similar to those in the last installment, which was published on January 29, 2019. The 2019 report warns on page 29 that, “The United States will remain vulnerable to the next flu pandemic or large-scale outbreak of a contagious disease that could lead to massive rates of death and disability, severely affect the world economy, strain international resources, and increase calls on the United States for support.”

Up-to-date (as much as possible) rates of infection throughout the world. Currently the virus has a 3.5% mortality rate.

We are so far behind on just testing for this virus it's unreal.
That would mean the death rate is 35 times higher for the Corona Virus.  Seems small, right?  So far this year, there have been 35,000,000 cases of influenza.  If it would have the same death rate, 1,225,000 people would die from the disease compared to 35,000 with the flu.

That equates to 7,032 Nebraskans.

In 2017, 3,500 Nebraskans died of cancer.

Kind of puts it in perspective.
