The return of EA Sports College Football

Yeah, I'm confused on the visits.

Apparently you can only schedule so many guys on one weekend?  Which makes sense but I'm not sure if it really tells you that or not.

And I've had one guy in the "Ready to Visit" for several weeks who I can't schedule a visit with.
It’s a glitch. EA is currently working to patch it. As far as visits are concerned.

The FCS thing is ridiculous. I've got the Huskers up to 2nd in the country and just took out #5 USC in the Coliseum (and they stay true to life and play that damn USC song SO MUCH during the game), and at the bottom of the screen is the score ticker. Clemson lost handily at home to App State, and FCS N/S/E/W (I forget which direction it was) beat 11th ranked LSU at home by 28. Huh?

For giggles, I also started a new dynasty on All American level with one star school Colorado State. Got my a$$ handed to me at Texas in the first game, that didn't feel good.

Enjoying the online H2H...so far it seems that glitch players cannot carry over custom playbooks and you can avoid having to play Alabama, Georgia, OSU ad nauseum by selecting to go against tier 2...I solely use Nebraska

Bought the game the other night, not sure what to think. Game play doesn't feel like a decade forward, it kinda feels like a few steps back with some polish on it.

All American makes passing extremely difficult. Especially with the double tap to pump fake. The game has always had issues where it doesn't register a throw, so then I tap the button again but now you end up pump faking and getting sacked.  :bang   Besides that I'm really struggling with the new mechanics and getting accurate leads and lobs. Surprise there's still no such thing as a back shoulder fade....

The new zone read mechanic is super annoying after almost 2 decades of the old way. I don't know if I'll be able to unlearn it...

Other than that the navigation is clunky and slow. Super sim is clunky for trying to skip offense or defense in single player. Also, it takes too long preplay to load up the player assignments. Sometimes the offense is snapping the ball as the lines/zones come up on defense.

Also, where the hell is the tutorial for all the new features????

After throwing way too many picks to guys who were open, I figured out the problem is the defender's reaction time is instant when the ball comes out (in addition to still having eyes in the back of their head). Even if a safety has just committed to a receiver underneath that would take him out of the play IRL (which is why I threw it) they instantly reverse course to break on the ball and undercut for the INT. Super annoying and unrealistic.

Yeah, there seems to be a huge jump in pass coverage ability between levels.  And I've run into the same thing: guys who are definitely open - and throw the ball hard - are instantly covered, even if that means the defender is suddenly on the other side of the receiver than he was when I threw it.

I was really enjoying Dynasty (offline) up until around 2028 when I discovered there is a cap on coaching XP and currency when your coach reaches level 50. I was LOVING leveling the coaching tree, and spent hours and hours on it before discovering this.

If I want to basically play in cheat mode I should be able to do that by continuing to progress until my coach is Paterno years old, especially if it takes me a long time to get there. I would be even more pissed if I was playing a team that started out with a lower baseline, like any non-blue blood or not recently successful team.

I may just suck at the game but passing isn't super easy on Varsity either.

I've been getting better. You need to identify if it's man or zone immediately and then know which routes beat what. Drag routes really seem to be the only reliable way to beat zone defenses. Slants and seams will sometimes work against zone but you have to make sure your timing is perfect. Anything deep on/outside the numbers in a zone I can't seem to hit.

In the 2 minute drill, out routes are killer and corner routes do really well against man coverage, if your line can block, but are an instant INT in zone. Check down to the RB if you're ever not sure. It's usually good for 2 or 3 yards. RB screen is actually effective now too.

My dynasty coach is so good at recruiting, Nebraska just lost to UCLA (simulated) to go 3-2 and I had 7 5-star recruits commit on the same day :D

Hire coordinators if you can in skill trees you don’t have.

Thanks, last time I had the opportunity they were basically all copies. Kinda wishing I had put all points into the same place for my head coach. I didn't know it was capped so I didn't get far into the 2nd level of any of them. Thinking about starting over.
