He's a broken record

Does this link work? It's his recent post history.

Should something be done about him? No warnings. But this has that "seasonal bitcher" feel to it. And it might cover his entire posting history. I don't feel he would be missed in the slightest, but I want to make sure he's getting a fair shake under our rules.

 
I don't see anything that seems too out of line over what others post. Or the gist of what he is insinuating escapes me. :|

But I defer to the majority as necessary.

I don't see a problem here. If he's got an axe to grind, fine. That's what we're here for. As long as he's not flaming people it shouldn't matter too much.

If he's derailing threads, zap him for that. Otherwise, I'd say let it go. He's posting and provoking posts; that'll come in handy once the spring game is over and we hit a dead spot.

But if he's playing the formerfan game, he needs to go. We've been through that once; we don't need someone hijacking every thread. So, again, that's what I'd use as the touchstone. If he's doing it, let him know he needs to stop. Then go the three strikes route.

 
Not trying to defend the guy explicitly, but I'm not sure he's doing much wrong. He's annoying, yes, but plenty of people are annoying.

Someone brought up playing Youngstown, he mentioned that Riley's record isn't the best in that situation. Is that true?

I understand it's annoying that he has the same sort of reply to many threads, but it's just a differing opinion. People can choose to ignore it and let it die, or respond and let it live on. I personally don't see a reason to get aggressive with him at this point, but you guys read the board more than I do.

 
Every comment he makes is negative towards Riley, in just about every thread, even if the topic isn't about Riley. That's not only taking the thread off topic it's formerfan territory if he does it long enough. I understand what you're saying, but I'm not wanting to put up with another polo again for the next 5 years or so.

 
Yeah, I can agree with Dave here. I think mostly I just found him very annoying. I didn't find Polo annoying while he did some of the same stuff, but that might be because I just agreed with Polo a lot more.

I kind of suspect Sker is mostly trying to get a rise out of people with his posts, but he clearly holds those opinions as well, and it wouldn't do to be seen as squashing them. So rather be proactive, maybe wait until or if he uses that rope we give him? Fortunately, his posts are less frequent and they're overall not having much impact on the board.

 
I disagree, several members agree with my approach to what he's doing, but I seem to be in the minority in a lot of these discussions unfortunately. Whatever the majority of us thinks I'm good with.

 
I know he's become pretty annoying to a lot of posters but I guess I haven't noticed him derailing too many threads. He posts frequently but almost all the threads are about the coaches so I haven't noticed it be a long ways off-topic. I'll have to watch a little closer - I been a little hit-and-miss around here for the last couple weeks. I think he's one to keep an eye on but I'm not sure he's over the line yet.

I see both sides here. I don't see him derailing a lot of threads, but mostly because we have pretty good members who won't let him. He's trying.

I don't think we do anything to him at this point. BRI's notice in that thread was good. I think we give him rope.

But, I don't think he's interested in being a productive member here. I think he's interested in his own agenda, and he'll eventually get banned.

Maybe he'll prove me wrong. I'd like to be wrong.
