Thread of Hate

I hate that it's only Monday, and my week is completely booked with meetings and training. Saturday needs to hurry up before I lose my mind.

I hate when someone posts a huge, long, detailed post or even something with a ton of pictures, then the next guy comes along and quotes the whole thing to say, "That's great!" or "I agree."

If you're going to respond to some huge post with a short comment, pare the original down. I don't need to see the same 12 pictures twice. :ahhhhhhhh

They're just doing their job no need to throw obscenities at them even over the internetz where you're anonymous and all powerful.

^^ What's the big deal? 007 is just complaining because Dishnetwork (or somebody?) is dropping BTN. I'd be pissed too if Cox Cable dropped BTN.

I think the Livechat customer service reps are very used to such language. They probably get stuff like this every five minutes. Especially if they work for Dish.

It doesn't matter if the person is "used to such language" or if it's over the internet, that's still a person behind that other screen, you wouldn't talk to them like that in person and shouldn't online just because of the anonymity.

It also doesn't matter how badly Dish handled it or how mad you are about the BTN droppage or the rep giving you a run around. What you do reflects on you and your behavior indicates who you are, even if others behave unreasonably it's not an excuse to abandon all civility.

I would've disconnected once he fed me one of the "company lines" and gone in person to the local office of the provider and cancelled in person, of course they'd ask why and then you'd say the BTN issue was the selling point. That's how they'll get the message. No need to lose composure or go off on someone. It's business for them and it should be for you too, just handle it and move on.

That's not a knock against 007, he's a good guy and I completely understand where he's coming from... I just would've handled it differently.

EDIT: rereading what you wrote its not THAT bad, minus the profanity it's fine.

I guess it's just that having been on the other side of such conversations it just rubbed me the wrong way. It's why I hate the general public.

I agree

Online customer service representatives almost always help customers through premade messaging systems. They're pretty useless.

Good luck with Time Warner Cable - you'll get BTN, sure, but they're a sh#t company.

Looking at his conversation it sure looks that way.

That's where I come from. If you work any kind of retail or customer service you learn some pretty important life lessons; people are dumb as f#*k, there are way to many a$$hole$ in this world, and somebody always has to do the dirty work so pick up after yourself and if your kids sh#ts/pukes on the floor for godsake clean it up yourself!!!
