Why?   You have to have a winner and loser unless you are gonna say the winner governs for 51% of the time and the loser 49% of the time.   Congressional elections are that way…100% to the winner, Senate elections are that 100% to then winner, Presidential elections are also that way….100% to the winner, just in a different format.

Thank you for getting this thread back on track. There’s plenty of other topics to rehash the election. This is for the glorious, never before seen in this country levels of winning that Trump is so wonderfully bestowing upon us.

If you were starting from scratch, and a state has 50 electoral votes, why wouldn't it make sense for the two candidates to receive the # of votes proportionate to the # of people who voted for them? 60% vote of the state votes for Candidate A, who gets 30 of the 50 electoral votes, and 40% votes for Candidate B, who gets 20 electoral votes.

If you met people from another world...trying to explain our current voting system would confuse them.  Trying to explain YOUR system would make them blow up our planet.  Haha

I miss when we merely had a moronic president who didn’t also go out of his way to hurt people. If this kinda stuff was the only s#!t that made me wish he wasn’t president, I’d be thrilled.

I think it would be fun to write a fantasy book that takes place in the world that’s inside Trump’s head. Where there is actually a mystical place up north you can go (after fighting your way through a monster infested forest) where you can open the ancient valves built by the now extinct dwarven race who had a prophecy that convinced them they should save this future, height-gifted people who will come after them but be born in the south, just out of the kindness of their hearts. But after they created the valves they found out that the orc leader just wanted to stop all of the water from leaving “up north” so he could create a bunch of water parks for his people to play in, and slaughtered all of the dwarves to keep it all a secret. But one of them escaped and with his last dying breath passed on the information. This was then lost to time inside some dank dusty old library and found by accident centuries later. 

I dunno. It’s just a rough draft.

Rake the forests.

Turn on the pumps and flip some valves for unlimited amounts of water flowing up (sic) from the Pacific NW and Canada.

And then just keep the tumbleweeds green.

Problem solved.

And the ancillary benefits. Less water going to Vegas, SoCal and the Imperial valley from the Colorado river. We’ll just fill up Lake Powell in no time. No more watering restrictions. Unlimited growth in the arid SW. This guy’s a frikken genius. Why didn’t anybody else think of this? Just turn on the pumps.

I’d love to see him take a deep dive into water law  :lol:

Imagine thinking this guy is qualified to be the leader of what was once the free world.  That's the kind of thinking that believes democracy isn't being systematically dismantled  right before or eyes and that Trump didn't know anything about Project 2025 even though that plan, verbatim, is being implemented as we speak.

The scary part is that's not even the dumbest thing he said on Day 5.  Abolishing FEMA and having the states all, individually by necessity have to man their own disaster relief agencies while waiting to be hit be a catastrophe.  That sounds efficient.  

Can Trump really be that dumb?  Or is that just a diversion from what's really going on?
