Underrated Huskers of All Time.

when he lead the charge with hagg returning the field goal attempt against texas in '10. that stands out for me.

gomes was just a baller. competitive, passionate, smart, and just a great blackshirt. really loved watching him play.

Not to mention one of the coolest cats when it came to interviews.

Chill as a cucumber.

gomes is one of my favorite players and i loved watching him probably the most in a long time.
He never seemed out of position. Like ever. It was amazing.
That INT in the 2009 Big XII Title game (should have been) legendary.
Gomes also had that sweet INT against Mizzou in the rain where he jumped the out route and took it down the sideline to set up a score.

People thought Dejon Gomes and Eric Hagg were underrated?

Maybe in terms of national awards I guess but anyone who was a Husker fan who halfway watched them play knew they were ballers.

Among 1980s I-backs Ken Clark doesn't get mentioned very often. He wasn't as fast as Jones, wasn't the all-around guy like Rozier, and didn't have the NFL career that Craig had. All Clark did was produce. His rushing duel against Barry Sanders in 1988 was amazing. Not much defense was played that day.

I will throw out Tony Veland from the mid 90s teams. Not many guys can tear up a knee, move from QB to defense, and then play at an All-Conference level. He may have lost his offensive QB job to Frazier, but Veland was the QB of the defense.

Matt, Matt & Matt company. O'Hanlon with the exemption of VTech play (burned), Herian who was shorted by devastating leg injury and Davison .... at the time, finished his career ranked second all time among Nebraska receivers with 93 receptions, trailing only Heisman Trophy winner Johnny "Jet" Rodgers.

Eric Johnson, WLB 1995-'99. The guy had all the tools. He held the WLB position record for 10 yd dash and 40 yd dash. Awesome stats his soph and jr years. But then fell off the map his senior year. Only played in nine games. What happened to him his senior year--I can't recall? Was he injured? Other issues? He got drafted by the Raiders in 2000. Ran back a fumble for a TD in Superbowl 37 (2003). BIO
