Guys, it's been five years. I've seen this site through an important stage of growth, but my heart just isn't in the Moderator job anymore. I think it's time I stepped aside and let the new Mods take the reins.

I can stick around and answer any questions they have, but I think they'll be fine. I don't think they'll need me.

Well, shoot. Oh, I'm sure Huskerboard will muddle through. But I feel like we lost something today.

Oh well, such is life.

Good luck in all your endeavors, Knapp.

I know everyone has appreciated all the extra work you do for the board.

I also appreciated all you did for my grandson, Rex.

This is something Lance has been pondering for a while now. This can be a thankless job sometimes, and burnout can be a problem. I've told him I hope doing this helps return some of the zest for posting here and that if he wants to return to Mod status to let us know. I just hope he sticks around.

Is there some way that knapp could have access to this forum, but not be a mod? He has a lot of invaluable wisdom that could come in handy, but that would be annoying to constantly PM. Also, could we maybe pin that thread? I know that sub-forum doesn't fill up as fast as the Husker Football sub-forum, but there's a lot of people who don't check in in the summer who may wonder about knapp come fall.

We can do it, but before we consider it, you might ask Lance how he would feel about that. If I ever leave due to burnout, to be honest, I'd want a complete break to recharge my batteries. In a way, I hate to ask because I wouldn't want to put him in the position of having to either say no, or feeling any obligation to do it.

How about this? Let's hold off on that for bit. Ask him via email or PM for a while, and let's see how he responds. If he doesn't mind, we can then consider making something here available to him.

Yeah, I agree on holding off. That suggestion was really made so that I don't forget about it in case that was something that Lance would be up to in the future.

I'm not in to that idea to be honest with you. I might be in the minority, but he chose to step away from the position, which means he chose to step away from this part of the board. There are plenty of others around here you can bounce ideas off of but I guess I'm also seeing that he's now an admin over at that other board. So to me, I'm calling B.S. on the he's growing tired of the mod responsibilities stuff. I'm not trying to offend anyone either, I'm just putting that out there. I feel my job as a mod is to protect huskerboard.com interests and don't really see why we would allow a regular member to have access to our discussions about the board or ideas for the board going forward. JMO...........

I understand and I'm not trying to argue with anyone or cause any issues. It's just a point I'm offering for discussion. To me, my spidey instincts are going crazy right now, but I could be way off base too.
