Same - the tackling wasn't great and they also struggled with some of the run fits. Some of that's a credit to UNI just being a well-coached team, though.Didn't love what I saw from tackling and the gains that they had but the defense was able to shut them down once they reached the NU side of the field.
And i've always have said I am the second coming of Nostradamus and a better line predictor than Vegas.
Not to get nitpicky but Lloyd had more yards, nevertheless what Nelson achieved in limited snaps is pretty amazing.Carter Nelson was our leading receiver in both receptions and yards. He played just 8 snaps.
Nice that we're getting him the ball when he's out there.
Not as nice for the other receivers playing 20+ snaps and not producing much.
Yep! If we get really good at setting up screens or utilizing drag routes, it could be really tough for defenders to deal w when they have to think deep ball threat and try to stuff the run.I learned that E. Johnson and Barney should be catching the ball more. The TE came up big for us a couple times as well. Don't think I learned much else. I think we'll learn a lot more about where we stand when we play Illinois next Friday.

In the end, points are the ONLY thing that matters. But, low yards helps with that. But, offenses are very different now than back then.Same - the tackling wasn't great and they also struggled with some of the run fits. Some of that's a credit to UNI just being a well-coached team, though.
Something I've had to change from a mindset perspective in recent years is what to really expect from a "good defense" and what stats highlight success. Growing up in the 90's and 2000's, I always associated good defense with limiting points AND yards, but now I think it's really more about the points because of how much offenses have developed and how the rules have shifted to favor offenses. It was annoying to watch UNI chunk out yards in the run game but overall a big success keeping them out of the end zone all game.
