Who's Leaving? 2024/25 version

So EJ hit the transfer portal bc he felt disrespected by Satterfield per Adam Carriker.  It's not about the money according to Adam Carriker's source.  Also 20 programs have already reached out to his agent and Dana has reached out to him as well.  We have a slight chance but very slim chance he returns.
It’s somewhat valid- but he wants to start all over?  There are no guarantees anywhere else unless he demotes the level of the team.

Sounds like throwing the baby out with the bath water.   But he is also 20 and probably doesn’t make the most rational decisions.

Well bc Satterfield still in the building and he probably despises him and doesn't want to be around him.

If someone is playing the $$ game, then we can "control" it to an extent by offering more $ obviously, but if it is "hurt feelings" about playing time, welp..... you can't offer more playing time, bc then you are either a coach who is held prisoner by a promise or one who goes back on your promise. Playing time is non-negotiable.  Can't help "feelings", except the new OC and HC extending an olive branch, which I am sure has been done.

If Emmett leaves he risking not being the #1 guy somewhere else. He has an OC here now that sees how good a player he is.

Other places haven't made him the #1 guy yet. He is only #1 at Nebraska currently.

You said it better than I did.  With an X name like $emoney, might be a hint. Still not sure he leaves.

I was reading somewhere about potential conflict between freshman and existing players over NIL. Might cause hurt feelings. I have wondered how coaching staffs deal with this. Jealousy is a primal human emotion.

It might be mentally easier to transfer even if it doesn’t improve a players position.

Money is always a factor for everyone to at least some extent. However, Emmett's case is apparently tied to feeling misused. Carriker's comments (here) were pretty informative without divulging too many details. Tie that in with Holgo's press conference comments about coaches sticking to their favorites too often. Having an outsider (Holgo) come in and cut through any favoritism or worrying about recruitment or seniority ties/promises made a clear difference and allowed Emmett to excel, much like he did late last season.

Hopefully Dana is able to work some magic, but I'm not sure how easy it'll be to mend fences in this case.

Spilled milk if true. Liked him, but not irreplaceable either.

Sure, but we shouldn't just dismiss productive players for looking around either, especially when they often went overlooked here. Again, I hope he comes back because I think he's talented and a very good leader for the program.

FWIW, I put together his numbers and exactly half of his carries and yards this year came in the last four games. Last season, our final four games accounted for 60% of his carries and 53% of his total yards. In other words, we only seemed to use him when others were hurt. If the coordinator was the only piece that changed, I can understand why he might feel that next year would be more of the same in terms of usage and being featured.

I understand that Dana is trying to mend fences but what about Matt Rhule?  He is the head coach and should try to be fixing things as well.  I understand he has a lot on his plate as a head coach but if any of the things about Satt are true then he should be held accountable too.
