W-L Record after first 14 games as Neb HC:

Frost           5-9

Did y'all see the Michigan/Army game yesterday?  Yes, Army's offense is one-dimensional; but damn fun to watch for this pigskin purist.  To begin building a Legacy of Winning, Frost should bring back a run-first/run-often/power-I/wishbone offense to NU -- wouldn't be as vanilla as Army as we have strong players to both throw and catch the ball.  This current NU offense SUCKS -- and so does the defense.  We won't win more than 6 games this season, and will be lucky to win 8 or 9 in a "great" season in this gauntlet known as the Big Ten Schedule.  Frost has a chance to save his job and build a winning legacy, but to do so he needs to scrap this junk UCF system.  Frankly, I don't think he's humble enough to even consider doing this which is a tremendous shame.  We probably have 6 more years of pain before landing the next "great" NU HC.  Ugh.

Wow.  Bold first post Cotton, let's see how it plays out.

Seriously, Frost is the prodigal son and isn't going anywhere.  Have you watched NU football the past 15 years?  It was/is a dumpster fire.  It would take Dabo and Saban multiple years to get this thing right.  And to date, Frost is neither one.....

As to scheme, I have never been a fan of the Oregon/UCF O. I'm old school.  I don't like the fast and flashy.  I like a power running game,  Traps and counters, don't mind the zone read and RPO stuff, but not one predicated on big plays and getting the ball to playmakers in space for success.  Make space.  Push people.  Out work, out hustle, out play.

Lol.

I think at some point, he may have to have a hard conversation with an assistant or two. That was always going to be the case. It was unlikely that every single assistant he brought here would be able to handle the P5 grind and expectations.

But I don’t think that convo is necessary yet. Let’s see how the team responds.

No one else inherited a team as bare as Frost either. I think we are really starting to fully see how bad Riley left this team. Give Frost time. If we don't see improvement over the next year or two, then I'll really be worried.

I just keep coming back to a Solich recruited and Calahan developed Greg Austin coaching the OL.

I watch Wisconsin and imagine there are Red N’s on the helmet.

As for Oregon. It’s ironic that even though Oregon was really good during Frost’s tenure there. I love the style of “spread” that oregon plays. They are a power scheme out of the spread. Seems like Frost May need to watch some of Cristobal’s tape. Won 77-6 over a team that beat Purdue last week.

This topic is ridiculous if I'm being honest. The guy isn't going anywhere, we've been down this hire/fire road before, we don't need to travel down it again. Anyone that thinks Frost is getting fired needs to stop huffing paint in the garage. If Frost a born and raised Husker kid, who's whole life has revolved around Nebraska in some shape or form, won a N.C. here and was starting QB, can't get this thing going.............it's dead forever and no one can!

With a much easier schedule than that killer schedule we had last year, I thought there was a possibility that we would run the table. We're obviously missing Ozigbo in the power running game with no replacement in sight. We ran out of gas at high altitude and lost in overtime. High expectations, as unrealistic as they may be, cause me to be more disappointed.

Our defense got shellacked, you can't put it all on the offense....giving up 31 points in half a game is pretty sad, but they pitched a shutout in the first half against an opponent with some offensive firepower.

I expected a razzle-dazzle Oregon style offense with a lot of different formations that would open the field and compliment the running style of Martinez, Washington, and Robinson....not seeing that much at all, looks like your standard 70's offense in the shotgun with an added receiver instead of a fullback...again, expectations.
Thought our running game would be much better up the middle, maybe a Bo Jackson type power runner would show up....not so much.

All in all though, I like what Frost is bringing in and I think he'll get it worked out. Sorry I can't get my National Championship this year but that's how it goes for most teams. I like watching these guys play, couldn't say that a little while back.

In regards to Colorado, every year Colorado has had a decent team the game has gone like this, usually with us coming out on top. They had the stamina and the willpower this time.
