WR Monte Harrison

The fact that he resides in Florida for the tax break has to lead the Brewers to believe he will sign. He wouldnt make that commitment to move there without intending to sign

Something to keep in mind, even if baseball is his #1, playing for Erstad for awhile could very well push him into the top of the 1st round, and several times the money. Take $1.1m now? Or maybe 5+ in 3 years. The kid has options, that's for sure.

$1.1 million signing bonus in 50th pick? Geez, I thought less than $500K, max. Oh well ........ keep in mind minus agent cut, IRS hounds and state collector.

Yesterday, "goodbye Monte" because the guru's said 1st round 16-18 pick. Now 50-50 chance to sign.

This has to be disappointing for MH and surely not what he was expecting 24 hours ago. If indeed he makes it to Lincoln I hope he pours himself into football and baseball. At least 3 years under Erstad can't be a bad thing and it may open some eyes in the NFL about his ability as a WR. The future is bright for him even if payday may have been moved a few years.

I would really really have a hard time turning down $1 million plus change, but on the other hand I don't even come close to the amount of talent and potential that he has so I really couldn't even know what it would be like to be in his position.

Minor league players only make $30K a year. He plays in the minor for 3 years and makes a little over a million or he goes to NE and gets a degree, Then he gets drafted higher and gets a signing bonus of 2 to 5 million. Nothing is guaranteed, but he could get an insurance policy to cover injury.
