What did we learn Indiana edition

Please don't commit suicide!  Rhule is going to do it his way not yours!  We do need to replace a couple asst. coaches & get a few good players out of the portal, not average.
It may not seem like it, but I do Rhule. There are two glaring spots that need to addressed and I really hope he addresses them. I want to believe that his way will be good in the end, but it is sick watching an all out a$$ kicking like that...after having two weeks to get ready for them. Is there something more going on?

Please explain. In our final 8 BIG games last year we gave up 12.5 pts a game. So far in 2024 we are giving up 26 points a game to BiG opponents and still have a tough schedule left. The 2024 D is worse than the 2023 D against
We lost some really good LBs & safeties. Our weakness position on def. is LB.  New db coach & this position has been questionable all year

There this song in my head…

Oh, where do we go now?

Where do we go?

Oh, where do we go now?

Oh, where do we go?

Where do we go now?

Where do we go?

Oh, where do we go now?

Now, now, now, now, now, now, now

Sweet child

There is no amount of excuse making that justifies a 49 point loss in the second year of a program to a team that went 3-9 last year.
Your expectations are too high.  Yes, I want to win.  But when we hired Rhule, the plan was set in place.  Plus, our freshman qb & yes freshman threw 3 interceptions today.

In the age of the portal, that is squarely on Rhules shoulders for not addressing it
Your high!

It boggles the mind just how bad our defense played in this game. You could tell they were going to put up a lot of points just halfway through the first quarter but this was embarrassing.

We needed a good running back this season and didn't have one. We couldn't have won this game no matter who was calling plays or leading our offense in this one, but it's clear after this game & the Rutgers game that we just can't run the ball well under this staff.

We got our big bad DC to come back for one more year and we got our big bad QB recruit to maaaaaaaaaaybe win one more game than last year.

  1. Nebraska's offense is soft. We have a weak running game. Our OC's scheme is a pass happy hodge-podge mess of things and truly has no identity. Satterfield needs to be replaced.
  2. Special teams is and has been an outright failure this season. Foley needs to be replaced.
  3. The 3-3-5 defense got exposed in this game.

  • Nebraska currently needs a bell cow running back and an offensive coordinator with a more commited and creative scheme that is based on power football. Rhule even said in his post game press conference that we need a better running game.
  • The offense would be better served by going more under center which allows the running back to get downhill quicker.
  • Special teams we all know needs a complete overhaul, starting with it's coach.
  • The 3-3-5 defense needs to be reevaluated this offseason. Is this what we really want to use. I personall feel eventually the team needs to transition back to a more consistent 4 man rush.

For now...find a way..anyway to get that 6th win. Then begin to fix the special teams and offense first.

Uhhhh what???   Wanting to not lose by 49points to a team that went 3-9 last year is too high of expectations!?!?!?!????  Really?

I fully expected to lose this game and I fully expected the team to compete and lose by 14 or less.   AFTER a bye week to prepare and get healthy.

Your high
No but you certainly don’t understand football.

5 turnovers.  Common sense sayes that would skew the score.

Those are just excuses, especially in this NIL and portal era. Indiana got a mostly new staff and is doing well in all phases of the game. We are over halfway through year 2 and by all objective measures this defense is faring worse against BIG opponents than year 1.  White deserves just as much criticism as Foley and Satterfield.
